This is one of his most outstanding songs on this outstanding album. I was so lucky to see him at Roseland in NYC on this tour. The opening of "Rhythm of the Heat" as he walked through the crowd with all of his musicians following him and playing percussion was too much to bear! You can see photographs of this show on the inside sleeves of the CD reissue of "Security." I was looking down from the front row balcony at that very show. He dove backward and had the crowd carry him back to the stage that night, during "Lay Your Hands On Me." Unforgettable! I was 23 years old. What a show!

Not having the talent to play an instrument I realized how amazing music was for our being once I was introduced to PG first year of college 1982. Listen to the drums in this song! Peter's lyrics, beats, sonic palette are genius personified. Listening to all of his music has enriched my life. Meeting him is a bucket list wish. I'm so thankful he has continued his craft and enriched the musical universe. Thank you Peter Gabriel!!!

I know things, because I’m old/young (57) and have not only been listening to this song since age 15, I had the Privilege of seeing it performed in 1983, at the Greek Theater, in 1983.
