What a wonderful discussion with a director who was world class. It’s a shame that Sir Peter was getting frail at the time of this interview but at least we have a permanent record of his thoughts. RIP Sir Peter Hall.

Very insightful. Good to see that he is not just an outstanding director, but also a man with a sense of humour as well!

The moment Sir Peter can't remember at 24.47 should have been: "Don't be ridiculous, he's an iambic fundamentalist!" (He wrote about it in SHAKESPEARE'S ADVICE TO THE PLAYERS.) He said it made him feel eternally flattered.

24.47 may have been an early sign of dementia? His dementia was diagnosed in 2011 which was the year this interview took place.

Sir Peter Hall seemed ill at ease and far from comfortable! A sad hesitancy!
