[ I don't have time to access this interview in full again] But let me point out that many weird things were done there, under supervision of the British Gov. It is all quite accessible in articles nowadays, I read it myshelf in the showcase of a reporter on a books called 'shut up' I still don't know how PH came up with this stament in his song on the late 80s,. ie it was probably meant to be hush hush at that time.

Although he refers to 'the nuclear question', this is an aside. He mentions (from 1:18) that naturally he is concerned about 'the nuclear question (because it is what others are talking about), but people have forgotten about strange stuff goiong on at a chemical and biological 'research establishment in Wilthire (England) as a 'bruise on the skyline ... in the middle of the English countryside' when he is driving back from London, and we ought ocasionally to remind people that "this exists". The establishment and the song are both called "Porton Down" - from the album pH7.

Was this interview conducted in 1986? He doesn't look the same as he does on the covers of albums from that era

I think it was in or around 1979 to 1980. Wish i still had my tape of it as |I recorded the date on it. It was long before we had a VHS machine.

I saw him in a small theatre in Quebec City in 1985. Alone on stage. He looked like that.

He looks like on the cover to Over (fantastic record), so the late 70s, I'd say.

This is from the BBC show 'Timepieces' which, I think, dates from around 1986. I know he mentions not releasing an album of new material for a couple of years after putting out at least 1 album a year. There was a three year gap between Patience (1983) and Skin (1986) so my guess is that this was recorded either late '85 or early '86.

@@brettlinforth1211 Yes you are correct, though I can understand other posters' confusion given that sleeve photo of PH on 'Skin' is so heavily pixellated!

I had a cassette machine and made a recording of this, but back then I only had a microphone to record it and my Dog kept barking :-)
