Which of these do you prefer to shoot: headshots or cityscapes? 👇

Why does Peter prefer a focal length at 92mm? I may have missed his explanation.
@joeep468 ай бұрын
He said it makes the person's face look most natural as far as features. The nose , the width. I tested this . I used a 20mm, 30mm and 50mm . My 85mm looks the best.

Another great vid from your team and this one simply shows why Peter is the best. Natalie -- either put the lens hood on properly or take it of - lazily leaving it on reversed is a very very bad example -- as is supporting a 70-200 on a tripod from the camera and not a lens foot. Peter's little tricks to challenge and use humour to get "something" in the eyes of his subjects. SOOOO many models eyes are dead. 100% with peter on shooting in bright light to shrink the pupil (black space). 92mm from what 7-8' (too far away in my view for a headshot), 5600k, jam your forehead forward, swintch, lift the chin, drop the closest shoulder to emphasise the jawline, find the better side, light 10' from the wall and 3-4' from the subject - so the wall is ~16% as bright as the subject Big debate in my world on the size of the catchlight in the eye -- "what is that large donut" -vs- ...... Ring flash, Beauty dish, large para all provide a ring, 4 panel and clamshell provide hard edged reflection, Peter's 3 speedlight/Led solution a triangle. Classic clamshell top and bottom and then ultra large softboxes or heavily diffused lights almost no distinct reflection -- all worth exploring. Even bigger debate -- ultra shallow (tedious) DOF -vs- appropriate DOF and providing enough DOF to enable the viewer to understand "where" the shot was taken -- otherwise one might as well be inside a studio.

How do you deal with the light equipment getting in frame ??
@BandH Жыл бұрын
Peter will often digitally remove the light in post production.
