As a kiwi I'm so proud of his success! He's putting little New Zealand on the map in cinema and that is just awesome!

I'm Australian and I live in California. I'd planned to go home in 2020, and visit NZ for the first time. Of course I couldn't go due to Covid, but I'm finally going in June. I can't wait to be back home and to visit New Zealand as well! 🇦🇺 🇳🇿

What a remarkable career Jackson has has. 3 bad ass exploitation movies, the beautiful ‘Heavenly Creatures’, the very fun ‘The Frighteners’ then…well, no introduction necessary 🙂

Amazing film especially in cinematography and story. Although it is tragic the unhappy ending is based on a true story.

He mentions the Leopold and Loeb case in the US from the 1920s a couple times; there was a film version done, sort of like Heavenly Creatures, called "Compulsion" that featured Orson Welles as the Clarence Darrow lawyer figure. He gives a lengthy speech at the end of the trial, knowing that the boys were guilty, but basically pleading for their lives, pleading against capital punishment. It's a stunning performance.

Tento perdoar o Peter Jackson, mas isso vem sendo muito difícil. Quando eu penso em toda a dor, o sofrimento, a revolta e a tristeza que esse homem me causou depois que eu me apaixonei por ele, fico mais infeliz ainda.

@@Doctordoompapito because he's just exactly as my ex-teacher Jorge Luíz who was a horrible person and who had absolutely everything in common with the own Peter Jackson aswell. That is the point.

@@Doctordoompapito Peter Jackson also destroyed untentionatelly Harvey Weinstein using himself to made success in Hollywood and also betraying himself using his own sexual crimes for ruined himself forever. Peter Jackson is also a junkie and a horrible sexual criminal as the own Harvey Weinstein and because all of this he's the worst and the most evil person who unfortunatelly ever existed in this entire world. This is terrible, but unfortunatelly it's the true.

A morte do Peter Jackson é só uma questão de tempo pois ele já está bastante velho e doente agora. Vamos ficar livres desse embuste pra sempre se Deus quiser.

Thank you for sharing. I recall showing Heavenly Creatures on first release in the UK. I thought is was remarkable and was certainly a box office success at Tyneside Cinema. I'd not seen Kate Winslet before but her considerable talent was immediately obvious. Her future was assured. From a technical point of view, I can't think of any other Director who uses the Super 35 process as well as Peter Jackson. The 2.35 anamorphic realease prints of 'Creatures' looked absolutely stunning as indeed did the 'Rings' trilogy much later. I recall James Cameron's Titanic looked poor by comparison despite using the same process.
