I just would love to let Peter know that I took my then 6 month old little boy on a three flight trip from Scotland to South Africa to see his dad (still hadn't completed his visa to move to Scotland but thankfully we all live together now since Feb 2020) my little boy slept on ALL of those flights and on the overnight flight, the three people who I was sat with in the middle row passed on how amazed they were with how good and settled he was. There are a lot of people who definitely switch off which is so ignorant (they're your responsibility folks! but I also understand that some kids are complex and have additional needs - my son would definitely not be so chill now at 4) but I was super paranoid and made sure to be over prepared and it helped lol! I was WAY over attentive for the sake of my mental and others HAHA!

I've never in my life felt more shitty and unwanted than when I was in Japan. I planned on 3 weeks trying to visit as much as possible, I had to leave after a week and a half. I got turned down for taxi's and wasn't allowed in restaurants. Tons of places even had signs that say "NO FOREIGNERS". I'm not a weeb or anything, I just like to travel and Japan was kind of a bucket list spot. I left and went to Bali. I've been to countries that are always called racist and they are to an extent, like Iran, but I haven't seen anything like Japan or even Korea and I speak both languages. Maybe it's because I'm a big white guy with a beard, I don't know. Ive even went as far as making sure when I get tattoos they can be concealed under a t-shirt because not just Japan but a lot of countries view them a certain way. I even dressed in a suit!

I don't agree with *Peter* (there always have to be a first time!) about JK Rowling being transphobic. She is an all time hyper focused feminist, and this leads her to be over protective of the rights that women have had so hard to get (not being yet a reality, beyond a relatively small privileged percentage in _part_ of the first world). She's not "hating" on trans, but defending fiercely the status of a woman, but not attacking neither hating on any gender nor anyone. She's just being a good "target", though, for some groups that always, constantly need a target, and of course I don't mean the trans people. Don't fall for those think tanks trends. Except for when they are actually right, but not "by default". And anyway, about the other thing: yes, MOST of the times you _can_ (and should....) separate the artist from the person, or better said, the art from the person, and still value their work. Otherwise, you would literally never enjoy ANY piece of art, music, poem. There does not exist nor have existed a "perfect human", if this is the high standard we want to expect from artists and creators, while we don't apply this to ourselves. That's oversimplifying and not understanding context, which is the main mistake that leads us to hate people different than us, or that think different than we do, etc. Which is what we were mainly criticizing to all what existed before, a contradiction which would seem ironical if weren't mostly quite sad. It is the same rule of non-context judgement (it's incredible how judgmental are becoming those who defend that there should be no judgement ! ) of other periods of history, for example, through which certain groups (often the same ones) are literally demonizing key figures of history without paying attention at all at their social, political, cultural and psychological context, the one main crime committed by haters of all times and periods, we are just repeating it, but pretending at the same time to hold the essence of purity. We have become masters, that is for sure, of lynching x or y famous person (content creators should know this, they suffer from it... _a lot_ ) for not following a main "pack of rules" that need to fit very, very tightly a certain model of conduct and thought, that's a fact, but it is specially dramatic when there's very little analysis, quite some disinformation, and a lot of blaming and stones casting. Because that only grows in its bad balance and ends often terribly for the "witch" being hunted (Rowling, here). Social media has caused so many cases of depression (and worse, but I don't want to mention it), and yet we don't learn from it, to do differently. In here, we are in front a philanthropist (yes! Quite a bunch of donations and activities!), feminist writer that does not have any particular hate against trans, but is an convenient target for certain interests, specially as it would be expected that attacking her would bring a lot of traffic and attention. The problem is that, like a few things of this nature, it helps polarization, generates more hate in several "sides", and helps masking the real, true hateful people (again, in several sides). It makes the actual haters hate more, and the more mainstream normies, those that should become "allies", to feel like left outside all of this and thinking that a rightful movement is actually extremist, so, not helping the cause at all. There's also no "sin" in you still liking and _fully_ enjoying Harry Potter. There's nothing harmful in its content (I have not detected a single detail that leads to such conclusion, the theories about it - like are there from any famous book or books- would make _any_ story impossible to be written) and its fantasy world and story, which is actually pretty good, it gives a main focus on values like loyalty, honesty and love, so much needed in this moment and time, despite how well or badly would one sync with the author, as a person. I probably would _not_ have a nice time trying become a friend of Goya, Beethoven or Chavela Vargas. As, - don't quote me on this, I don't know the historic facts of these in detail, not trying to make a statement- it's said that these three had a pretty strong character. Or Caravaggio! One of the greatest painters of all times!. He had a lot of anger issues. Maybe not fully intentionally, even killed a man in a duel (a thing pretty frequent at the time, back to context), took part in many tavern fights and who knows if was unhappy due to being actually homosexual or bisexual (not really proved). And yet I find articles written about him calling him a "murderer" and other bad name calling. Not taking in account that he was conscious of the classes system (one of the first!), as he had suffered in poverty and hardship, would never disguise the misery of the models (painter models were usually homeless, drunk, hookers, etc. Painters of the times would always disguise all that, but he wanted people to SEE that). That he was gentle to many of that people , that he was orphan since very tender age, and was alone in the world, on his own, configuring this a lot of his character issues, tavern sword fights, drinking, etc. People are always conditioned by their context. And his art was as fabulous and as enjoyable today as Goya's paintings, Beethoven and Chavela Vargas' music, or... J.K. Rowling's books.
