Great guy and was lucky enough to see him play at his prime and at the end. Could still play well even in his late 30's. Bremner was Leeds greatest player and was almost Leeds United. Yet he wasn't a manager and he wasn't a coach. Did some really stupid things in his life and he was a bit of a coward. Never tried anything when he didn't have bigger guys to run behind.

Bullies, coming unstuck against bigger bullies.. They were unlucky in 1975, but 2 Bayern players had their careers ended by disgraceful Leeds fouls. So I'd put that one down to karma. Leeds had a great team, that could beat anyone on their day. Sadly, they will always be remembered for their dirty play. Revie was a great manager, but he had one terrible fault. Sometimes when down in England you speak a bit slower in order to be understood. I myself when a student at Manchester University had to do this but when i returned to Scotland I was eager to speak in my true tongue. To: Isleofskye: Yeah -- that would have been possible; but, then, as the time elapses, we tend to lose contact, not even the availability of each other, or their phone numbers, but the psychological aspect behind this: prolonging the perpetual procrastination. One does feel slightly uncomfortable, though, even under regular circumstance; but something as salient as this -- probably, he just wanted to let sleeping dogs lie. Even in my situation, I have many numbers of associates, co-workers, relatives, but wary and would feel odd regarding intruding into their busy lives after a long time -- especially, rehashing any negative aspect. To cap it off: calling up a boss who fired you! I don't think so. Not the proper psychological protocol.

@eddyvideostar5 жыл бұрын
To Steve Carl: Peter Lorimer was a legend and had a large leg, leading the league in long range licks. It was enigmatic how Bremner was taciturn regarding the conclusion of Lorimer's career. I believe it was the age aspect: Bremner probably wanted to take the team into another direction, installing more youth into the system. Management are usually obsessed with the future and try to tweak delicate aspects, which may subsequently loom large. I am guessing but if he were informed of the reason, Lorimer may have tried to correct the situation -- not really what Bremner would have wanted.

Dear Clive Bindley: _A large leg:_ letting me linger longer with the lilting alliterations. What I meant by this, was that he had the most powerful shot in the league, of which the speed, trajectory, and momentum would bemuse and bewilder any goalkeeper.

Leeds fans remembering the old times clogging their opponents to death, only to be perennial runners up. Aye! They will be crying into their methylated spirits and Frosty Jack's at the memories of the failures of yesteryear.
