Wow. I love this song (it's a Yothy Yindi song, an Australian aboriginal band). I've never heard this version.

Mandawuy Yunupingu was the lead singer of the popular Indigenous Australian band Yothu Yindi, sadly he passed away. Some of their popular songs was Treaty & Djapana among others.

Peter Maffay has been around for a long time. He's from Germany. (Born in Romanian) He's pretty good. The instrument you hear is a Didgeridoo from Australia. It's a wind instrument.

This is another Peter Maffay From Germany!!! Very beautiful this song and the Video to🤎 Had never heard of it. Peter only sings in German. His biggest hit was "DU" a romantic song. DU means "YOU" very nicely. Thank You 😘

I've never heard Peter Maffay (German pop/rock) sing in English. Suits him. Always loved his voice and his songs are good, it's just not the kind of music I put on my playlist. He also did some concept albums with music for kids about a little green dragon called Tabaluga. There are even a musical and a cartoon series. A pretty famous guy around here, since most people know him even when they don't listen to that kind of music (and well deserved so, he is around since the 70s iIrc). I enjoyed this. 😊

Cool to find you reacting to this because you spread it to a lot of international viewers. Also for adding your thoughts. Peter Maffay is quite popular in Germany, more in my parents' generation for making ballads and rock songs, or for his Tabaluga musicals that are first of all for children but in calm moments for listeners of all ages. Loved Yothu Yindi since i heard them in the early 1990s with their Treaty song. I love this collaboration a lot and had the chance to see them live on the Begegnungen tour, I think late 1990s or early 2000s, something around that. It was even more powerful. Hard to deal with the fact that it was a seated concert.

Thanks for being a Champion! So great to see you appreciating Indigenous Australian music & messaging. So much more good stuff and in many Aboriginal languages also. That ancient instrument that immediately caught your attention is the Digeridoo. This is just the beginning of your journey down this 'wombat hole'! {#Just a Cultural note: If you choose to do so > There are various cultural prohibitions against mentioning the names of people who have passed away or showing their images - so the usual Courtesy is to acknowledge this at the outset of Introducing any clip by saying: " This video may contain images or names of people who have passed away". This shows respect and gives those Aboriginal people who follow those practices the opportunity to decide for themselves whether to view or not. } It's true - there are so many issues & needs out there. it's important to not get overwhelmed or demoralised. Every one of us can Get Up & Stand Up. Just pick just one place to start. Much progress has been made in addressing discrimination and it's long term effects upon our First Peoples - but we still have a long way to go. The starting point is acknowledging the wrongs of the past and standing up to make a difference for all of our futures.

That voice of the instrument in the beginning is the didgeridoo. An Austrilan instrument and original Aboriginals people from Australie. The were the first there. But also there go's white above the original aboriginal. It's so stupid. Everyone is the same. Thanks for sharing. Love xxx

There's a walking of a rainbow dawn And the sun will rise up high There's a whisper in the morning light Saying get up and meet the day Well inside my mind there's a tribal voice And it's speaking to me every day And all I have to do is to make a choice But I know there is no other way All the people in the world are dreaming (get up stand up) Some of us cry for the rights of survival (get up stand up) Saying c'mon c'mon! Stand up for your rights (get up stand up) While others don't give a damn They're all waiting for a perfect day You better get up and fight for your rights Don't be afraid of the move you make You better listen to your tribal voice! All the people in the world are dreaming (get up stand up) Some of us cry for the rights of survival now (get up stand up) Saying c'mon c'mon! Stand up for your rights (get up stand up) While others don't give a damn They're all waiting for a perfect day You better get up and fight for your rights Don't be afraid of the move that you make You better listen to your tribal voice! You better listen to your tribal voice! Well I wonder if it's part of history Full of influential mystery From the spirits of my people Who have just gone before And the future of another day All the people in the world are dreaming (get up stand up) Some of us cry for the rights of survival now (get up stand up) Say c'mon c'mon, stand up for your rights While others don't give a damn They are all waiting for a perfect day You better get up and fight for your rights Don't be afraid of the move that you make You better listen to you tribal voice You better listen to your tribal voice You better listen to your tribal voice You better listen to your tribal voice You better listen to your tribal voice You better listen to your tribal voice You better listen to your tribal voice You better listen to your tribal voice You better listen to your tribal voice (get up stand up) You better listen to your tribal voice (get up stand up) You better listen to your tribal voice (get up stand up) You better listen to your tribal voice (get up stand up) You better listen to your tribal voice (get up stand up)

Youtha yindi today are not known well yet there music has been with me 20 years in uk when I found them accidently in hmv , since when in Australia been to many aboriginal communities and built good relations and learned so much of there ways in a positive way, so sad that we tried to wipe out and amazing community and still don't have a proper treaty to honour the people with, fav song is one blood, used to play on way to give blood lol.

Brother is talking about " Rites" like rite of passage to experience this Earth guided by culture, not " Rights" that laws and United Nations gives people they are charters and fees and they cost each nation a lot of money to uphold, somtimes they dont uphold what is paid for lol but demand it like a ransom/tax? Maybe IDK ?. Beyond rights can we just love and respect each other that way we dont got to pay a thing. Happiness will be the new and maybe a new culture hand in hand might come through, im thinking that this is the same as a treaty but really its respect and love. Thats all its all very simple aye. Peace family
