Well in the 2006 Marvel comic series called Civil War Peter was on Ironman's side, and during the middle of it he revealed his secret identity to the public ( since the superhero registration act required heroes to do so ) but those who opposed it were on Captain America's side. Eventually Peter switched to Steve Roger's side and in one of his comic books which was set during the Civil War, Kingpin hired a sniper to take out Peter Parker , the sniper person tracked him down to a motel where Peter Mary Jane and Aunt May were staying. Instead of Peter Aunt May accidentally got shot, Peter rushed May to the hospital. After a while he gets news that Aunt May is dying and so him and MJ make a deal with Mephisto ( Marvel's version of the Devil ) to erase their marriage from existence which would save Aunt May's life. The deal happens and in this new reality May is alive and well, deceased characters are back and Peter and MJ are practically strangers but later down the line get back together.

This song… Wow this is heartbreaking 💔 I’m crying for these two they deserved such a better happy ending instead of MJ and Ned forgetting 🥺 I never knew how hard this song hit’s with them and the whole movie…yeah.
