The film's not bad, but it's one of the most extremely angry and profane movies ever made, especially how some Glaswegian folk have been brought up in the older times, such as the 70s, 80s, 90s, and early 2000s! It's one of the most culture-shocking presentations of the rough parts of Scotland! Films like these really do open people's eyes to the horrible bullying, knife-crime, and the downwards spiral that people should not dare to go through in life!

Great movie. I just watched it a couple of days ago. To me the funniest dialogue is towards the end when they visit the safari park. Reply by second teacher - “ You can stay (in the bus) if you want to, I’m going with f.....g daktari here”.

so what about the scene over the football boots? Isn't this one of the most important, but overlooked scenes in this film! And yet, even the directors still continue to overlook it..., but for me, it sums what this film is about. A scene that sums up 'perception', and class divide... which this film is really about? Is there no way out?

I think some Scott’s are like some Irish, they’ve so much history ingrained in them there’s no need to act. It’s all very natural.

The knife scene where he tapes a knife to both hands is based on a true story from Greenock where a lad actually done it and murdered two people, anybody who knows what happened knows.

@@dickterpene8697 Not to sure where that came from pal, could of been a thing they done when Peter Mullen was growing up,it's really about his time growing up.Whereas the knife scene I know about and I know the guy who done it for real,he's still in the Prison,I've met and spoke to him.Martin Compston comes from the area in Greenock where it happened and told Peter Mullen the story and Peter Mullen the guy who made the film, said he was going to put a scene like it in the film.I can remember reading about it in the news of the world that he was going to make a scene about it.But yeah it is a true story, and the boy actually killed two guys and taped a knife to both hands. The lads that got murdered second names where McMenamin and McKenzie. And the boy who done it was a lad called Billy.L from Greenock and it happened in the early 1990s.

The scene at the start with the bottles swinging round the lads neck. Is that a real thing? like does it have a name or is it something thats heard of from back then? I've never heard of it being done but Mullan must have got it from somewhere? Neds is meant to be partly based on his early years.
