I logged into my computer and sat, awaiting the materialisation of the desktop screen. When, finally, it appeared accompanied by nothing but the low-level humming of the internal workings of the machine that my life so depended on, I gave my actions no second thought. Instantly I opened Google Chrome, and then acting as if on instinct opened my emails (of which there were none), Facebook and KZbin. Facebook held nothing for me on this particular evening, and so it was to KZbin that I entrusted the night's entertainment. After watching several videos featuring cats and a review of whatever movie was new and deemed 'must-see', I somehow found myself watching a variety of clips from the cartoon comedy show 'Family Guy'. Some were of only middling quality, while others had me laughing in my chair in the manner of one demented, but finally I came upon a video that was entitled 'Peter narrating his own life (HQ)', which had been uploaded by a certain Kevin Gerardin. Knowing nothing of the uploader, save from what scant details I could glean from the small image accompanying the name itself, proved to be no boundary to me, as I knew the clip well and was certain of its amusing nature. After watching the clip I decided to mimic it, as a small child will mimic the actions of its parent. As I drew the small narration to a close I reflected on how unoriginal such a thing must me, and a simple perusal of the comments section proved this to be the case. Nonetheless, I decided to go ahead and click the post button. Whatever regrets might haunt me for this action would be mine alone.

For some strange reason "Peter Griffin" was one name that popped in my mind this sunny but cold Canadian morning. So, I turned on my Samsung tablet, I thumbed the KZbin icon which then opened the application on the mobile device. Narration was one key word that plagued my mind at that very moment. But, the task grew tedious as time went on... I continued to type and type on a touchscreen keyboard, skimming through each word and surveying for grammatically incorrect sentences and typographical errors. That's when I realized that misspelled words worry me more then the incoherencies and butchering of the English language. But, I needed to set my feelings aside, and continued as I was; Commenting on a KZbin Video.

comanchio1976 I think they took gags like this and thought the 'Peter being a jerk' part made it all, ignoring the brilliant reactions from the other characters. Lois' glares and eventual snap made each of Peter's lines hilarious. This is the problem with modern era Peter and other Seth characters like Roger, they just turn the characters off while they get away with murder, which isn't half as funny.
@comanchio19767 жыл бұрын
+ToonReel001 It seems like a much deeper problem than that, though. I've tried watching some more recent episodes again, hoping that the quality might have improved; and not *once* during the entire episode did I even crack a smile, let alone cry laughing at the whole thing as I used to. I honestly think that *all* of the writers have moved on to do other things. I'm going to find out what those other things are, and watch them instead of any more new FG - it's too depressing.

I feel like what makes these earlier gags is that they bother to animate the reactions of the other characters. If this had been a later episode, Lois would likely just be sitting there with a blank expression, while what makes this gag hilarious is Lois trying to eat but getting slowly but surely pissed off with each of Peter's oblivious pot shots. I sat down on my bed while holding the pizza box that had just been delivered to my door. I opened the box, and was met with a well-prepared pepperoni and salami pizza inside the box. I smiled, as I anticipated the savory flavor from the beloved combination of bread, tomato sauce, cheese, and meat. Just as I was picking up the first slice, I hesitated. I looked over at the corner of my apartment and saw a stack of identical pizza boxes that had been piling up for weeks. I began to wonder... "What happened to me?" I remember in my youth, I had so much energy. I was confident, handsome, and ambitious. But over the course of my 20's, the fires of passion and determination had been blown out by the cold, dark winds of reality. My thirst for the thrills of life had been replaced with apathy, and complacence. I stood up and went to the mirror. When I gazed into my reflection, I pondered the man staring back at me. His eyes used to be blue, but now were grey. His abdominal muscles used to be chiseled, but were now veiled in a layer of fat. His beard used to be short, and well-trimmed, but now was long, and unkempt. I pulled my smartphone out of my pocket, and looked through my call history. I saw that I had not spoken to any of my friends or family in several months. I saw that I had not received any calls in several weeks; the last few of which, I ignored. I opened my refrigerator. Inside I found several bottles of beer, a half-eaten chicken sandwich, a bottle of Dr. Pepper, and some expired lettuce. A voice in my head said, "You need to make a change." And I made a promise to myself not to return to this place again. And yet, as I made this promise, another, quieter voice in my head said, "You'll be back... You always come back." And although I was ready to make the change, and restore myself to my former health and wellness, I knew, deep down... The quieter voice was right.

As I was scrolling through the recommendations page on KZbin, I noticed the title "Peter narrating his own life". I clicked on the video, eager to find out what Peter would be narrating. Sure enough, he was narrating his own life, and it was quite funny. I scrolled down through the comments section, which made me laugh even harder than the video originally did. I decided that I should add my own original comment to the video, but with some sort of twist at the end. I began to type the comment. It read: "As I was scrolling through the recommendations page on KZbin, I noticed the title 'Peter narrating his own life,'" I then decided that at the end of the comment I would repeat myself and include exactly what I had previously typed. As I continued to type this, I realized that I had been sitting here for nearly five minutes. I thought to myself, would this actually matter? Is this going to be read by anyone at all? Oh well, I thought. I guess I will post it anyways. I then proceeded to hit the comment button.

MuteCase I was scrolling down reading the comments, I had noticed your comment of you narrating your life. As I was reading yours, I chuckled for a little while thinking to myself, "Damn, that was funny!" Like you, I think no one would notice my comment. But, at the end of the day, I thought to myself, "It don't matter.....none of this matters!" "So fuck it", I then told myself and continue to scroll down and read more comments on this short yet humorous video.

Kind of impressive that the first thing he remembers upon waking is narrating his own life

“The Life and Adventures of Peter Griffin” is a much better title than “Faster Than the Speed of Love”.

I gaze upon the laptop on my desk whose screen glows with the light of a thousand pixels, and gently caress the surface of my mouse. With a flick of the wrist and a dash of purpose, I glide the cursor across the digital expanse, setting my sights on the KZbin search bar. "Ah yes," I muse, "the world's oracle, keeper of Minecraft let's plays and Family Guy clips." In the blank canvas of the search bar, I type with a flourish, "Peter Griffin narrating his life". My fingers dance over the keys, each stroke a gentle hymn to the founders of the internet. Ah, the suggestions appear, but I trust my own instincts. I press 'Enter,' a small but triumphant act. The pixels upon the screen dance and flicker, and before me lies a treasure trove of video clips and snippets. Ah, but which is the chosen one? My eyes scan the titles, thumbnails, and durations, each video vying for my attention like suitors before a queen. And there it is! A video title so perfect, it could only be the object of this glorious quest. I click, and as the page unfurls, an advertisement attempts to claim my time. But I'm undeterred, for I know that the 'ublock origin' extension will deliver me from this capitalist purgatory. Finally, the clip begins. Peter Griffin's animated visage fills the screen, and as he narrates the vicissitudes of Lois's shallow and pedantic meatloaf in that uniquely Peter-esque way, I cannot help but let out a sensible chuckle. Ah, satisfaction, the true currency of the internet age. With that, the clip ends, but the feeling lingers. I have successfully navigated the labyrinthine corridors of the World Wide Web to find a morsel of humor, a snippet of joy. Another quest completed in the endless, winding narrative of my life. But alas, with my journey over, what possibly shall I search for next? A spark of inspiration enters my mind as I move my mouse over to the "incognito" button. As I depress the left mouse button, a devilish grin smears across my face.
