Peter is 100% spot on with his analysis about the British Invasion & how the Beatles paved the way at the beginning doing things their own way. And yes, beside the Beatles and then The Rolling Stones, there was definitely extreme popularity for Herman's Hermits, The Dave Clark 5, The Hollies, Gerry & the Pacemakers, the Animals & a few others that were easily in the top 10 of the Invasion from 1964-1966. Herman's Hermits were also a very good band live, back then and still today. Peter's voice is still really good and he still looks good.

Great interview! I was lucky enough to see Peter at a concert in London, Ontario around 2009. I met him after the concert. A real nice guy! In this interview he comes across the same way. A great live performer. I really enjoyed his reflections on his experiences in the 60’s as I lived through that period as a teenager.

A lot of those British performers were from the low working class suburbs...they had nothing to gain by being pretensious, they were just natural, and delighted to just be in a band let alone famous. They never forgot where they came from. They didn't want to go back to that situation, but they appreciate the journey that made them famous. Well most of them anyway, you do get the odd coneited ones.

Peter LOVES to talk and tell stories and seems to have no issue with having to repeat himself so often because of all the interviews over 60 years.

That was fun! Wish he talked a little about the other Hermits. Bet the DC5, other than Dave, were surprised to hear that they were wealthy.

When I was a nine years old my mother gave me the exact money to my very first record in a music stall in an indoor market here in northern England. I bought Sleepy Joe, I have a large collection now but my first one was Sleepy Joe. So long ago now but good to see what an intelligent person and his interesting stories. He is like Jimmy Page, no edge or self importance now.

Man, when I was 11-12 Peter Blair Dennis Bernard Noone was my hero, although I loved the whole British Wave phenomenon, he was possibly along with Nelson Eddy and John Denver my biggest influence vocally.

Did he ever meet Carole King? anyone? Thanks for posting when these interviews were done! lots of you tubers don't do that. He would've, I think, had a HUGE hit with Tomorrow Night (a Shoes song). He could still add it to his live shows. EXHIBIT A: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHaQipWFlqd1naM 36:52 who was this critic? why not name him? 39:24 best quote in this whole video! second best: 44:35
