Ah, I don’t know about that. I’m 73, and I cry tears of compassion when I hear this. It speaks to me, and it expresses my sentiments exactly. It seems my “higher ideals” are still intact.

Right you are, vegasgeorge. May we maintain that sense of unity till the end. Although, if you think of it, there really is no end.

I have loved PP+M for more than 55 years. In all that time I've never heard this song. If there is a song more relevant to today I have yet to hear it. Peter Paul and Mary have inspired generations of us to be better than we might otherwise be. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My wish is that ALL the leaders of the world would listen and fulfill the hopes of this song.

Unfortunately, 'the leaders' don't want to listen. It is up to the People to listen.

PP&M look even better in this vid now than they did when it was originally made. May brother- and sister-hood live always, growing ever stronger.

They got it from J. S. Bach's Saint Matthew Passion! That's good too.

February 21, 2022. Ukraine was attacked by Russia. Europe is heading to war. I’m in Upstate New York. My hubby is from Germany. Our European friends say they thought fighting would end after WWII. That’s not true, because of one tyrant. God bless Ukraine.

My throat tightens when I read that Tom Glazer's parents came from Minsk and think of how little the people of my generation did of the work he describes in this 1947 song. I didn't even know this song until yesterday and became aware of it because Bach was once again playing on the radio (far too much on Sundays in general).
