This was my first ever outing into the world of motorcycling. Enjoyed every minute of the little thing, until my mates bought RD200 Yamaha's, one even had the RD125 and they all left the Bantam for dead performance wise. My love affair with it lasted around 5 months before I too joined the throngs of spotty youths riding Japanese machineary.

Memories, back in the day we had a chap who would build a bantam engine in his lunch hour, if he was bored. No waiting for spares to arrive, he only had to climb the ladder to the stores from the workshops, we even did an over the counter exchange scheme for cranks and barrels. What's that about the good old days being better than now? 😂

Wonderfully detailed video again mate. The engine is coming along nicely and whomever did your rebore really did a great job. Those little 1% things like dressing the port edges are the sign of a professional. Looking forward to the next instalment. Thanks for plugging my channel too......

You should just have fitted the Yamaha clutch conversion once fitted just forget about clutch problems ever again. I did watch the conversion you did but have never seen a follow up? I have this conversion on a Drayton Bantam and this will get far more abuse than a road bike will ever see and it is also bored to 185cc.
@retromechanicalengineer
@retromechanicalengineer Ай бұрын
@@router5840 The D10 I converted is awaiting further progress, amongst other projects. This one is a customer's engine. I'm glad to hear that the clutch holds up to abuse, very promising.
