"Go do what I never did" sums up the Peter/Ken relationship... the son escaping the father he couldn't , live up to and the the father escaping the son he could never provide for... the most real relationship in Corrie since Hilda cried when Stan died. The pathos is extra because Chris Gascoyne may only return for the hopefully delayed death of Bill Roache

This episode was so sad bc of Peter exit even when he looks at the pub it brings back the old memories one thing I am happy is that how the other characters showed how they cared about him especially with him and carla it didn't ended bad between it was just something that had to be done but yh farewell Chris good luck in the future

​@@jamflossI didn't say it was great, but that's a problem with all of them, I watch the big 3 for comparison with each other, Eastenders is by far the most exciting definitely, but it's storylines are full of credibility challenging plotlines, and over the top violence, same can be said of Emmerdale. They are all running out of ideas, because they are on too often, and are running in excess of 40 years, you can only churn so much out of anything, before you start running out of ideas!

Peter Barlow is the best loved character in coronation street. He was born in 1965 with his sister Susan Barlow who was the parents of Ken and Valerie. He has made an return in the year 2000 ( December) which Marks it's 40th birthday. Peter told his dad that Susan is dead, until he made his another disater when he dated Lucy and Shelley which he was involved with the bigamy storyline. Peter went back to Portsmouth until he made an return in 2007 when his sister tracy was involved with Charlie until he left for Portsmouth and returned home again but with simon as lucy Richards has died so he took him to his dad and Deirdre Barlow until he sets his eyes on the battersby girls, first it was Leanne until he was involved in an tram crash in 2010 which Marks it's 50th birthday from then on he dated tina McIntyre and he was framed by Rob Donovan ( Rob is the culprit). Peter came back for Deirdre Barlow funeral and he made his third return in 2016 with his dad's stroke scene but he buys the rovers return inn Pub in 2017 and he was involved with the battersby girls from Leanne to her sister Toyah battersby. Peter then got involved with the surrogate scene, until he then sold it to johnny and Jenny Connor. Peter return home to his dad until he was involved with Carla Connor who he took an partnership in Underworld and he was hit with the involvement of the factory roof collapse which was caused by gary windass until he left for Carlisle. Peter Barlow was involved with the drinking problems of course which is killing him with hitting his dad Ken and rejecting Carla Connor of course. Peter finds out that he has liver failure. Peter Barlow found out that Stephen have taken the money from Carla , etc until he arrived back home and killed him right in the street. Peter Barlow is the longest serving character from 23 years on the cobbles and it was amazing to watch his wonderful and glorious journey and he wasn't played as peter back in the 60s as Robert Heanue who played as peter in 1965 to 1970 until Chris Gascoyne joined in coronation street in the year 2000 so we all going to miss him and everybody that he was involved with will miss him dearly. Hope all those years with the loveable rogues in Peter Barlow that he was and he will enjoy his marvellous ending of his time as he leaves. Chris Gascoyne AKA Peter Barlow will be missed Goodbye Peter and enjoy what you have been doing whole of your time in corrie and weatherfield behind. Feeling sorry for simon Barlow loosing his own dad 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. This just showed up in my recommendations, and I was expecting some tragedy or other; I haven't watched present day Corrie in four years (been watching classic Corrie instead, as it's far better and more realistic, IMO) but why is Peter leaving? Obviously he and Carla still love each other? Although; judging by some of the storylines that made me quit watching it, which I found laughable and not very believable - maneater Tracy Barlow having it off with Sophie Webster's ex GF, for instance and the whole Jim/Liz and fake Katie McDonald farce - it wouldn't surprise me if Peter is heading off in search of the Holy Grail, or similar! 😂😂
