Peter's ZF6HP19 Valvebody

In Part2, I overhaul the valvebody with new plate and dampers, the solenoids were already changed so i left those alone. The overhaul of the Trans and Valvebody went very smooth and the trans worked real nice. Thank you Peter for making the trip from eastern Long Island. @@GaryFerraro Hi I'm a viewer of your KZbin channel I have a couple questions on a 4t65eHD transmission I have in a 07 impala police car my car wont go when I put it in drive but it still works in reverse and I can shift the gears manually 1st 2and 3rd that's how i got home when this happen at a red light also I have some noise when I put it in first gear I was hoping to get your opinion since you deal with these alot I was thinking of changing all the solenoids on the left side of the transmission behind the cover and hope that the problem i see alot of people do that and says it works perfect after that please if you could get back to me with any info or advice I'd greatly appreciate it thank you!!

@@DIY-dv7xj Not a solenoid problem, sounds like a broken band, could also be possible bad planetary gears if you hear a noise, first thing to do is drop the pan, see whats in the pan

Very nice👍🏻 Do you know the differences between the 19 and 26 mechatronics? I want to swap a 26 into my A6 (C6/4F) 3.0TDi. It only got the 19 junkbox from the factory. And i don't know if the 26 mechatronic/ tcu will work with the car or if i have to puzzle with 19 and 26 parts (if it's possible, that's why i'm asking). Greetings from Germany :)

Parts on the 26 are larger than the 19, overall larger unit

Basically yes, Gen 1 and Gen 2 Valvebodies are different but pretty much work the same

Love your videos and have been subbed for awhile but your gotta do something about the excessive lighting Gary. At the very start, you cannot even distinguish the right side of your face from the wall or even see the separator plate.

Just a pointer, but there is too much light coming from your right hand side from out of camera range. I know it is difficult to do in a shop but try to shut off some of the lights. Your camera aperture can only do so much. No different than pointing your camera at the sun and expecting to be able to see a plane flying by.

@@skutahuniai4830 Yes, I had extra lighting installed because before was too dark, the lights i has installed are L.E.D, will play around with and see what works

@@GaryFerraro Yes, I am an electrician and had guessed they were LED. Need it for working. A raised tarp to block the light out of camera view might be a thought to try. If that works, get your electrician to put in a switch to cancel those lights only when you do videos.

Hey Gary, I hear these transmissions that have a bridge seal that can cause hard downshifting is this true to your experience? My 09 335i with this transmission is having this issue at 69k miles.

Late reply but I can confirm this as I just replaced one that had a major crack. If the crack is big enough the car won't even feel like it's going into gear because 1st will slip even at idle.

Gary stupid question does the five h p up to seven or eight h p transmissions same bolt pattern if not all of them which ones do I am planning on putting the six or seven speed to my W8 passat When I go to buy the next one already got the upgraded transaxles and everything

Either way regardless a bigger transmission still fits the body is going to be going in the car and the size isn’t very far off

Greetings from dubai. I too have the same transmission on my 2008 x5. Their is a 2 sec delay on reverse when I shaft from d or n. Weather its on cold or hot oil. Is that normal.

could get it on Amazon, one side medium(dont really use this side) one side fine(use that side) 120 grit medium 240 grit fine

Hi gray ,I have a zf6hp19 ,i did the new zf solenoid kit and I put a new sonnax kit on my valve body but I’m having issues with the 1 and 2 shift because it jerks when I accelerate on drive could you please help me , what can I do next ?

@@GaryFerraro yes I did Gary !!all the other gears are shifting great, just the first gear when am in a stop light and accelerate you feel the bump /jerk. it always dose it around the 10mph and 15 mph

@@felipegarcia6637 ok, questions, are there any codes present in the trans or engine, if so the adapts may not work. You changed the solenoids because of this problem? Adaption will only happen when the trans temp is above 130F
