No-one will ever replace Peter Sallis, but after watching Vengeance Most Fowl, I can safely say that Ben Whitehead has done a wonderful job in replicating Peter's voice.

Well unfortunately there will never be another Peter Sallis.

Peter trained Ben Whitehead for years because Peter knew he would eventually retired. Ben voiced Wallace in the Telltale games as a test and every reviewer said they didn't know it wasn't Peter Sallis.

A wonderful actor and a genuinely lovely man. No one could've played Wallace the way he did. That gentle, lovely and heart-warming voice suited the character so well. Plus, I also enjoyed him as Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine. He was an exceptional talent and a great presence on the screen. Thanks for the memories Mr Sallis ❤ 😊

We're so lucky to have had him as Wallace... Peter did the world a service by helping out Nick when he was an unknown.

RIP Peter Sallis. His classic voice made Wallace and Gromit what it is today.

A wonderful actor and such a distinctive voice. I liked the contrast between his other famous character - Norman Clegg - a rather cautious worrier, and Wallace - a gung ho inventor. I also like how they both get into scrapes! So cute how he wanted to experience the Oscars, not like a big star but to enjoy every second as a kind of spectator. Lovely to hear his voice. Brings back memories of Sunday evenings at Granny’s house watching Last of the Summer Wine.

He became a household name by just being himself, the love for him was infectious because he just wanted to do his best and he wanted to help his friends.

It's refreshing to hear someone say 'I loved the Oscars'. So many celebs who are too cool for school talk about what a bore it is. Lovely voice, sounds like a very nice chap. A life well lived.

I actually knew him first from Wind in the Willows.

I knew him first from The Ghosts of Motley Hall. He had a small role in "Anastasia", 1956 with Yul Brynner and Ingrid Bergman. He didn't look any different.

The best part of this video is when he starts laughing describing the plot of "A Grand Day Out", because it's so daft it's hard not to laugh at it.

Wallace and gromit, they are like the friends we all want, brought more to life than just any cartoon, maybe it's the medium in which they are created... plasticine, which perhaps for a lot of us, used to play with as kids and many will have made small people and animals like dogs and such. I very much immensely enjoy these productions.

Lovely man with a lovely voice. If i remember correctly, Nick Park could only pay Peter £50 for the use of his voice. Great sport for doing the role for so little

Whilst Wallace will be his most famous character, Peter Sallis was exceptional as Ratty from Cosgrove Hall's Wind In The Willows! Made the character his own and was brilliant :)
