I got a compilation CD for christmas that included this song; it's the first I'd heard of Skellern, but what a charming wistful tune.

Played a lot on the radio, didn't chart. Quite different from the magnificent 'You're a lady' which I well remember seeing on TOTP and thinking what a novelty the brass band was.
