@bluenotecat It is an accordion: C-system button accordion with free-bass. Because of its size, tone and other characteristics this type of accordion is also called Bayan. The name Bayan comes from Russia.

Very fine playing. This is consummate musicianship. The bellows control is proof of the most exigeant brand of musician. I believe this is a Pigini bayan- probably one of the Serius models. They're close to bayan, but are still diferent in sound, and don't seem to have the same bellows autonomy. The Jupiters seem to use no air at all- about 25mm per mesure, despite deep bass notes. It's all in the metals used ; not at all available in the West. However Mr. Soave deserves great admiration for his musical sensitivity. It's a good thing that these kinds of instruments are really taking off. Mr respect to you Sir

Nicolas Couvet Oh I see, thank you. I already knew about the famous 33, but didn't realize that this was one. They were built with Russian reed plates, but have a completely different sound to the unique Jupiters. The production was halted because of extremely complicated technical problems, and highly specialized Russian technicians had to be flown in to repair the plates constantly. Frederich Lips has one too, but he lives in the country where the technicians are found! Pigini has since brought ought the new Nova, two of which I tried. Not convinced. At à princely sum of 35,500€ and a waiting list of more than a year, I'll refrain. I'll stick with my Sirius, thirty- two years young that won the world title in 1986 in the hands of Christine Rossi.
