You're very courageous to admit your own wrong doings and you're very wise to learn from them. This was your path, this was your destiny. Also note that you're far from the only one to have fallen in that trap. Please try to forgive yourself for any mistakes from the past: you were very young and it wasn't your fault as you were beguiled into thinking you were fighting for your country and freedom. You only did what you thought was best. You're still very young (40 is the new 30) and you own a house and land, you're in a good spot. If you have moral values and wisdom, you'll be fine. I'm 21. Found out about them about a year ago, because of Christian Woman and Love You to Death. They never failed to put a smile on my face, because (and I mean this with no disrespect) it was all so corny and vampiric and goth, it really brought me joy. Recently I decided to listen to the rest of the albums and became obssessed. Type O Negative gave me a sense of belonging. This guy was out there somewhere and maybe he got me? Maybe I fit somewhere. Problem is I refused to search for any info about them, so not to "spoil the musical experience of it all", which made it much harder to, weeks after the real obsession began, casually stumbling upon a "RIP" comment for him under one of the songs I was listening to here on youtube. My fave band, the corny ass vampire looking singer that put a smile on my face and my """sense of belonging"""... all shattered. He was dead when I was 10. It's been a decade since the band ceased to exist. I grieve someone I never knew and feel more misplaced than ever... I hope I feel better about this soon. I remember seeing them in concert. Peter drank an entire bottle of Merlot on stage. That beast could drink. It was my favorite concert. I wish I could have met them. They were signing autographs but I was too much of a pussy to meet them after the concert. I regret it.

He is such an incredible man and artist. Incredible human being. He will live on forever to everyone who adored him. Such a fucking shame how soon he was taken away.. right when he was turning his life back around and doing well. I’m so blessed and grateful to have grown up listening to their music. People who don’t know them are missing out on so much. RIP Pete🖤💚

There was never was, is, or ever will be anyone remotely close to Peter. Personality, honesty, whit, humor, expression of thought without a single lie, song writing, stage presence and talent. Always insightful and entertaining.Talented and never egotistical, NEVER took himself seriously, and a genuinely kind, good person. Bands/Musicians performing now are Taco Bell. Listen to them and crap them out. May Peter's music, charisma, and legend live forever.

I absolutely adore them and I appreciate them as a person and as a band so much too. I appreciate all the vulnerability they have put out over the years and i have gained so much empathy for them. They have been through a lot and i’m so thankful they were willing to put that out there (essentially for money) for us fans. Without them i would’ve been in an even darker place. They have thought and warned me about upcoming experiences i’m going to have in life as a teenager (death, ?drugs?, sex, heartbreak,… you name it) and i’m so thankful for that. I hope that after all these years they can finally leave all that darkness behind and feel better. I wish them the absolute best for their family and i hope that Peter’s energy and spirit is right where it needs to be.

Been on a bit of a Pete Steele binge- it seems to me he was always trying to hide behind the persona - and yet I suspect the ongoing fascination isn't just about the music but about exactly who he was - seems very elusive. I am so sad that he passed away without being able to really feel ok in his own skin.

I first heard Type O Negative in 1999. I was 6 years old and fell in love with the band. The lyrics, sound and vocals would just blew my mind. Lisa C I mean that’s not wrong. Peter seemed to stick his head out at random people and either completely destroy their sense of ego or ask them why the hell did they go to his band’s concert. That sound like a parent to me. Weird he never had kids.
@jippy89763 жыл бұрын
@@lisac2094 Not so weird, based on what was mentioned in this vid. Plus, he was well known for being beloved by the kids and other regulars who visited the parks he worked at. The kids are the ones that initially gave him the nickname “The Green Man” that he continued to utilize in various ways once Type 0 began to kick off.
