@@Chief-Solarize Hello sir, my name is Chris and I was very touched by your comment. You don't know me but I feel like telling you: please don't feel too guilty, you seem like a good person. Fact of the matter is that - as opposed to your friends who were either killed or committed suicide - you're alive. There's a reason for that, and I think God has a plan for you. You're very courageous to admit your own wrong doings and you're very wise to learn from them. This was your path, this was your destiny. Also note that you're far from the only one to have fallen in that trap. Please try to forgive yourself for any mistakes from the past: you were very young and it wasn't your fault as you were beguiled into thinking you were fighting for your country and freedom. You only did what you thought was best. You're still very young (40 is the new 30) and you own a house and land, you're in a good spot. If you have moral values and wisdom, you'll be fine. You have a new life ahead of you now x Chris.

I'm 21. Found out about them about a year ago, because of Christian Woman and Love You to Death. They never failed to put a smile on my face, because (and I mean this with no disrespect) it was all so corny and vampiric and goth, it really brought me joy. Recently I decided to listen to the rest of the albums and became obssessed. Type O Negative gave me a sense of belonging. This guy was out there somewhere and maybe he got me? Maybe I fit somewhere. Problem is I refused to search for any info about them, so not to "spoil the musical experience of it all", which made it much harder to, weeks after the real obsession began, casually stumbling upon a "RIP" comment for him under one of the songs I was listening to here on youtube. My fave band, the corny ass vampire looking singer that put a smile on my face and my """sense of belonging"""... all shattered. He was dead when I was 10. It's been a decade since the band ceased to exist. I grieve someone I never knew and feel more misplaced than ever... I hope I feel better about this soon. I watched an interview, it was about him getting up at 4 am to work. He was a full throttle man, alpha, that's for sure. The pressure of life, without self care, is too much for the heart, but like he said, it's about pride, and principle...so he always gave things he was involved in, his all. Man, I wished I had the chance to see Type O Negative. Been a fan of them since listening to the soundtrack of Freddy vs Jason. By looking at these interviews of Peter Steele, he comes off as an intelligent man.

A real working class man who did a real job while he was in Type 0 and his bass playing was out of this world as well as his great voice n lyrics.💚😎🖤

Damn I miss him so much. I've been watching a lot of Pete since his 10 year death anniversary. He was a gentle giant. RIP bud.

I saw them as a teenager back in 2003, went to see another band and was blown away by them. It was Cradle of Filth headlining, who I went to see,, Moonspell opened, and Type O was nudged in the middle.. I thought Moonspell was pretty cool, but TON was something else entirely. I left a fan that night. Cradle sucked. I bought their albums the next day. I just didn't have exposure to them until that point and it was so good. One of my best concert going experiences. Funny thing is, Pete was standing by the bar with some other band members before the show. Had no idea who he was, but he clearly stood out. Just thought he was a jolly green giant. Wasn't ever able to see them again.

I absolutely adore them and I appreciate them as a person and as a band so much too. I appreciate all the vulnerability they have put out over the years and i have gained so much empathy for them. They have been through a lot and i’m so thankful they were willing to put that out there (essentially for money) for us fans. Without them i would’ve been in an even darker place. They have thought and warned me about upcoming experiences i’m going to have in life as a teenager (death, ?drugs?, sex, heartbreak,… you name it) and i’m so thankful for that. I hope that after all these years they can finally leave all that darkness behind and feel better. I wish them the absolute best for their family and i hope that Peter’s energy and spirit is right where it needs to be.

Peter was as tall as I am, which is rare. 6'8" is fuckin tall. Tall enough to duck when walking through doorways. You so used to ducking that even if there is plenty of room, you still duck..... Fucking habits. Still listen to Type O Negative.

So true! My ex was 7’ and his bestie was 7’1. I’m barely 5’. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone really. Things is shorties never think about like even a shower head. He hated driving my Xterra too. Always used his old dinky truck as that was one he could comfortably drive, despite being old as heck. Also, the back pain and constant bending over to talk to people comfortably.

Also, FYI: At the time of the interview, Peter was dealing with Sepsis caused by diverticulitis and he was living in Scranton, PA, with his girlfriend at the time, and shortly after Peter died Type O Negative disbanded, and the fact that we’re reaching the 11th anniversary of his death (almost to the day). Also I would like to mention that he was sober 4 months prior to this documentary being aired.
@yvesheinrich50132 жыл бұрын
You're not the first person who mentioned the illness he was battling with at the time. Yet I'm surprised as to why it's all news to me. Is this now the official cause of death?
@evanfairlie8830 Жыл бұрын
@@yvesheinrich5013 thanks very much I wasn’t really a big type O fan anyways because of the era they came out of and I was born in the early 2000’s so if you do the year that he was born and the year he died you would find out very quickly how old he was at the time of the interview and also I was wrong he died the day after this interview premiered.

Lisa C I mean that’s not wrong. Peter seemed to stick his head out at random people and either completely destroy their sense of ego or ask them why the hell did they go to his band’s concert. That sound like a parent to me. Weird he never had kids.
@jippy89763 жыл бұрын
@@lisac2094 Not so weird, based on what was mentioned in this vid. Plus, he was well known for being beloved by the kids and other regulars who visited the parks he worked at. The kids are the ones that initially gave him the nickname “The Green Man” that he continued to utilize in various ways once Type 0 began to kick off.
