Old stories like these are far more terrifying than anything you find in today's horror movies.

A very good voice and choice of stories . You put a lot of background and take your time telling them. Sometimes others rush and don’t give you time to take full of advantage of listening and to enjoy . 👍👍👍

In a day and age where people are truly selling their souls (or asking how to) to the devil,this should serve as a modern cautionary tale to be sure.
@soxpeewee4 жыл бұрын
You've gotta be a troll. Peter Stumpf was tortured into confessing to this nonsense. Even if he was a killer which was unlikely, this is ridiculous. If you read about the historical context it was likely a political/religious motivation that prompted a literal witch hunt.

As promised, I have been completely bingeing on your channel & hope you enjoy the other Ripley novels! Curious, would Peter Stumpp have been missing a paw when in wolf form? Also, have you seen "The Company of Wolves", an odd, '80s horror fantasy movie set around storybook tales like Little Red Riding Hood? It's a bit dated now but still one of my favorites. Well, better get back to my bingeing! ; )
@DarkHistories6 жыл бұрын
One of the "witnesses" actually mentioned the missing paw as apparent proof actually! However, it was only one guy and there's so much guff being spoken by the locals that I put it down to someone trying to pin it on Peter with an easy thing to tag on to him. I love this story though and it's really amazing how much the social aspects and explanations for things like this cross-over with other supernatural tales from a similar period like witches etc. I've not seen that film, but odd, 80's horror is definitely totally up my street, I'll try and seek it out, thanks!

Underrated film, never gets airplay now! Inspired other films of that era like The Lost Boys and Hellraiser.

Interesting read. I read the account and listened to this. Peter is killed in a horrible manner and the people are so sure he did it. He confessed, witnesses aristocracy attending, but they are vague about a belt gifted from the devil that transforms a man into a wolf. And it just “isn’t found”. If the story is true I find it hard to believe such people would allow that belt to not be destroyed. It makes you wonder

Commenting before finishing the video, but it seems the most plausible scenario is that this was a large, strong, vicious man who went on an insane killing spree, while eating parts of his victims. Of course, superstitious people would assume that it's some sort of animal creature.
