Take a country like Turkey, or the former Ottoman Empire; The largest, most significant and longest spanning colonial empire in the world. Does the UN press for the Turks to have their identity erased? Nationalism is tied directly to a sense of sovereignty and is reflective of a country's culture, values, language, attitudes, beliefs, resources and geography --it's national identity no less. Stripping sovereignty is akin to stripping religion or culture. What would he replace it with I wonder? Methinks Peter and others like him are closet xenophobes, scared of cultural relativity and cultural differences which he hoped to slowly extinguish through a grand plan of social engineering of homogenous societies. What next, a one world government?
