Wow I might be more persuaded by this guy because I'm studying neuroscience, but that was a very appealing Occam's razor-like concept for the perception of the supernatural albeit somewhat unsettling. Interesting evolutionary explanation.

Semiotics is the term used for the study of meaning making / signs, it might be of your interest. Though I'm not very acquainted with semiotics I feel it's an undervalued field of science seeing I see a lot of philosophers / scientists talking about something as if it was a new concept while there's a already an obscure field of science tending towards it ("meme"by Dawkins might be an example).

It's all relative. One day, I'm like a king. The next day, I'm nobody. It all depends whom I'm with or whom I'm not with.

The realm of all concepts > specific concepts (with the exception of the realm of all concepts itself). "Meaning" is a concept with definitions that are also concepts. Our language itself is a concept from the realm of all concepts. Our very conscious existence is just a concept from that larger realm of concepts. The word "concept" is a concept in and of itself even. "I" exist in that larger realm of concepts. "I" "eternally exist" if you can even conceptualize it. "I" am a very part of the realm of all concepts which eternally exists in some concept. "I" am a specific concept in the realm of all concepts. "I" am because "I" am (just a concept that is) whether you conceptualize me or not. "I" exist because "I" am (a manifestation of a concept in the realm of all concepts).

But is a concept abstract or real?
@charlesbrightman42378 жыл бұрын
John Peters It's a really abstract concept. :-) And I guess it depends upon the absolutely truthful definitions of the words, "It's a really abstract concept.". Where do words themselves come from? Where do the meanings for those words come from? Where do ideas themselves ultimately come from? From the concepts of what we call "absolute nothingness" OR from what we call "absolute somethingness"? Did everything in existence ultimately come from absolute nothingness? If so, how did that work? OR, Did everything in existence ultimately come from absolute somethingness? If so, how did that work? OR, if not from absolute nothingness or absolute somethingness, (the only two ways I am currently aware of), then how exactly did they come to be? How exactly did that work? We have entered a realm of infinite possibilities. (Based upon what those words and their related definitions mean, even what "mean" means).

Charles Brightman There exist things called complex systems, which are systems that are 'more' than the sum of their parts. That is, they don't have any value by themselves, but when they are combined into a large system, they produce interesting behavior. One example is your brain: individual neurons don't have any useful functions by themselves, but when they are combined into a large system, certain properties emerge. Now, these 'abstract' things, such as thoughts, *must* have some physical location in our brains. It may be just a set of neurons firing at the same time. If I say to you, "what is football?" you would describe a system with rules and components. But football itself isn't actually a single *thing* like an apple- it's just that we call it "football" when there is this specific system I just described. It's a description of the relationship between objects - it's not an object itself.

Search for a meaning? kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKKahoCZgseknbs You asking people what does 'one' or any other word mean. You can look into any dictionary and that would tell you instances within a context what a word could mean. The real meaning of any word depends on the person himself or herself. You can teach a parrot what a word means, but not a human.

Asking these fools what the meaning of life is will only get you lies. The only way possible to learn the meaning of life is to listen to the ONE that gives life to God's characters.

It'd be nice if you explained who or what "the ONE" is.

John Peters The Tree of Life is some type of very advanced technology that our Creator converts his thoughts with into a simulation program called Eternal Life. We are experiencing life within that technology that we can't possibly observe.

Peter tse has degrees in physics and cognitive neuroscience. His research is extremely technical. He often dumbs down the scientific explanations for the general public. But dont u dare think that he has no scientific articles. Search up on the internet . From visual perception, consciousness from a cognitive standpoint to analysis of sub neuronal structures. Why , just why would u trust a cosmic dictator who enjoys our pain . This guy has 30 years of technical expertise. He has devoted his blood and sweat to understand some deep questions about cognition. Plz try to understand
