@@trashtrash2169 yeah but at the time would you rather just have bought a much more powerful gaming laptop or a much much more powerful laptop? I still miss this kind of stuff, but really more in the phones department. sure we have much more mature mobile platforms now and powerful chips on them, but you have basically no choice at all in the form factor(if you don't build your own out of a raspberry or something and they lose on size integration). around a dozen years ago was the last time there was some choice, you could get a slide out gaming pad, you could get a full qwerty keyboard, you could get a full qwerty slideout in portrait, you could get a full qwerty slideout that slided in landscape.. now you can get a slab or for enormous amount of money a slab that folds on itself - and that folding doesn't give you any usability extras even. thing people forget about xperia play even with it's slideout game pad is that you could use apps with it, much faster than with the touchscreen in many cases. you could scroll a web page without moving your hands/fingers positions etc. back then we used to even have scrollwheels quite often. even just something like a qtek 9000 would be fun. qtek 9000 was a pocket pc with a turnable display and keyboard under it(you could use it in 'tablet' mode or with screen and kb both visible or close it up for pocketing entirely. going to industry events back then was much more fun than now because you could see all the crazy stuff and most of it would end up in the shops - now you just see a slab and the slab feels like a slab.

From a pure tech standpoint there’s a zero percent chance of getting anything on dolphin to run on this. You’d have a better chance with PCSX but even then it’s gonna be challenging

Sonic Mania decompilation was ported to Win 98, so it would likely run on Vista too. Actually a Steam client from before Vista was shut down may allow more Sonic games to be played from the Steam store as well...

The Windows XP/Vista Steam client is in a sad state, but it does still kinda function. Direct downloads from the library are no longer possible, but I think if you move the download from a modern machine and version of Steam to Vista or XP it will work.
