But nice to see they’re still going strong with their oysters, clams and them fish sliders! Such a beautiful country. Perfect balance of trendy and nature. Seattle is actually similar to NZ in that people here are very environmentally responsible. Most places now are required to charge for plastic bags and we have separate compost from waste and recycle etc etc haha. Crab shack looks so bomb. I have tried NZ oysters before. So yummy. I can eat 2 3 dozens if I am hungry lol. This depot place seems a bit pricey tho for two without alcohol haha. Another great video. Love the energy from both of you.

Ohhh can’t go wrong with seafood. Sorry I’m catching up on videos. I’ve been crazy busy. Ohhh fish tacos are so yum. Popcorn prawns sounds like my type of dish. Yum!! Crabs & Oysters are my favourite seafood. Hey, are you guys still in Raro?

I think it's time I came back to AKL for a visit lol It has changed so much since 2000 and the eating options are world class. NZ has always been famous for seafood. I remember skipping lunch at school (Mags) and walking over to St Luke's for fish n chips and Long John Silvers every week 😁
@PeterandYen5 жыл бұрын
Oooo yeah! LJs have the meanest chips especially with that lemon seasoning they put on everything. KFC used to have an awesome one too but they stopped doing it. But in saying that the food scene now is even better hahaha. Come back n try these spots for sure they are 🔥👍
@tengu57375 жыл бұрын
Peter and Yen ah yes for sure. You guys should visit Qld one day. I live in Brisbane which is the same size and vibe as AKL just hotter. There's just as many kiwis and Asians as AKL so you'll feel right at home haha. Btw does mercury plaza still exist?. I used to go there every weekend for the Malaysian crispy chicken and rice dish. Other weekends I'll be at Việt cafe in Otahuhu. So many memories 😊

Sorry for the late reply! We've been having an amazing week in rarotonga just got back this evening... mate so many great memories of that viet cafe, that was the first place yen and i ever ate vietnamese food when we were like 5 or 6 years old hahaha. Those spring rolls and pho will forever be burned into my memory. Ken used to own the Malaysian place in the corner hahaha another classic. There is still a really good ramen place in there but they are relocating once mercury closes shop to become a train station. We've been to Brizzy once before to visit our cuzzies and may very well pay another visit sometime soon 🤔

Sushi originated in south east Asia as a way of preserving fish through fermentation. But the Japanese took that and made it their own and definitely what you see as sushi today is credited to Japan 😁👍

@PeterandYen5 жыл бұрын
Many cultures have their own versions of dumplings. Japanese have gyoza. In Nepal you have momo. Pierogies in Poland and ofcourse Chinese dumplings. We're aiming to try them all only pierogies left. They are all delicious in their own right 😊
@ac27v5 жыл бұрын
@@PeterandYen yes, but i do not agree with you. becuase dumplings were invented initially by Chinese in Han about 1500 years ago. the Japanese version is a copy of Chineses'. so if they are selling it then it should not named as Japanese dumplings similarly as we buying sushi from a korean restaurant but we know those type of foods are Japanese food just now made by korean becuase it popular. i'd not call it korean sushi.
