Really enjoyed this interview. Thank you to both you and Layne. And I love the fact you allow your ‘guest’ time to think and answer - so many interviewers interrupt the answers or try to make an interview about what they know. Your interviews are a pleasure to listen to 👍

Incredible how much these guys have going on, the range of creative talents they bring to their activities... and how they find the time and energy for it all is hard to imagine!! Truly impressive.

Really, really hope they do some more BTS content over at Pattycake Productions! 🤞 Even if they post them on a 2nd channel or something? I'm always so curious about how they manage all the behind-camera creative processes, and their videos are SUCH high quality, it's fascinating hearing just how much effort & re-working goes into achieving that.

Such a rare insight into the creative process and the mindset behind it....beyween this and Geoff interview we can feel spoiled from both yours and Elizabeth's (Charismatic Voice) interviewing and the chances it gives us to get informed, satisfy curiosity driven general questions but also for the ones more technically savvy and interested , learn a ton.

I have always loved VoicePlay's version of Phantom. It was soo unique and so cool. But then, i am an EDM fan and love those vibes they added. They may be able to put a younger crew together, but "hotter??" Srsly?? No way in heck. The Daddy (zaddy nrg with Geoff) vibes are strong in the crew.

One thing I love about Voiceplay is they’re always trying new things, I’m glad they’re not afraid of what people think because that mindset of being a people pleaser can be very debilitating. I would know because I’m trying to stop doing it just so I can create my art business. I will say this, Voiceplay will never become stale because they’re too ingenuitive and innovative. So good at what they do. Great inspirations for people like me because I’ve seen that they’ve already done it so I can too.

thank you so much for this interview peter, and thank you layne for sharing yourself with us! having a huge share of VP's arrangements, it was incredibly humbling to hear layne speak at length about his process. it give renewed appreciation for VP's music. not every VP song is my favorite, but it's in my very biased opinion that VP never misses, and layne's breakdown on his process explains in part why. also, oh what i wouldn't give to hear a layne demo 😅

This was a fantastic interview! Layne has always had such a creative mind when it comes to the arrangements and/or productions. I have no idea how he fits all of the VoicePlay, Pattycake, and family into the days/weeks/year. He has so much going on at one time that I would totally feel overwhelmed! I can’t wait to see him explain an arrangement in ProTools. I have been looking forward to that.

Excellent! My only additional question would have been with determining who the 5th artist would be and whether or not VoicePlay will have a permanent 5th member in the future. Omar and JNone would be my choice for that position. They both fit in well. Or, bring them both on and make the group a six person team.

17:07 I love the thoughts about collaboration and getting ideas from others. From a totally different scenario: with some friends, we sometimes do D&D games for public events, and we put a lot of time into writing adventures together. It's an incedibly different thing from working alone. For sure, you need somebody to be the lead writer/chief editor, but when lots of people add their own ideas, and comment on other people's ideas, it can become something really clever.
