I am pretty much in shock how nobody talks about Peter flawlessly hitting the D1 first try. :D

At this point, I don’t think anyone is surprised by a clean D1 from Peter lol. Chest fry (from my perspective) is so much more manageable in terms of consistency, as Peter demonstrates on all of his videos! But yeah, a clean D1 is always impressive!

@@YandreYak My opinion of bass singers was ruined as a child. I had an uncle who sang bass in choir, and *everyone* praised his singing. He droned. He droned low. Yes, he got down there, but you couldn't make out a word or a syllable, it was just a low drone. Geoff and Peter completely recalibrated the difference for me between a good bass singer who seriously works on their musicality, and guys that can go low but try to fake it without the work.

You are so good at this! It’s so good to get a clear breakdown of what’s going on. I’m glad you said that about the instrumentals. During chat during the premiere, Geoff made some kind of comment about how hard it was to play all the violin parts. It had a kind of facetious feel to it but I took him literally and was going on in comments about how he played all the instruments. He was, in a way, but yeah, it makes more sense if he did it the way you describe (tho it wouldn’t surprise me if he could actually play several instruments). Your teaser sounds sweet! To me it was more spoken than anything else so I didn’t check out the soundtrack because I found it without dimension. Now I know why I found this so much more interesting although I never could’ve put it into words like you did. So thank you for pointing out all those little tiny details. I am going to go and listen once again to his karaoke track which does not have the lead and it may make some more sense. I’m also going to check out the score because the things you talked about are the things that draw me to this particular piece. I’m not a Skyrim fan but I downloaded that soundtrack because I found it amazing. But based only on the snippet I heard of this song prior to this video I was not interested. Thanks to your comments, I’m going to check it out. Excellent analysis and most of it made sense to me and I have absolutely zero musical knowledge. And Tywin destroyed House Reyne in the most baller way possible, too, proving at a young(ish) age that he was not one to be messed with. Castamere was a stronghold that was mostly underground because it started off as a mine. The Reynes thought they could hide from Tywin by going down underground and wait him out. So Tywin, like the badass he was, diverted the river to flood Castamere, so that the one thing that was preventing Tywin getting in also ended up preventing them from getting out before they drowned. EVERYONE was killed. As far as I know, nobody in the Westerlands rose up against him ever again.

I also wanted to express my thanks for the videos! Though never particularly talented at singing, it was something I did enjoy. Music has been a long passion of mine. Good music and lyrics together can be so amazing! Myself - I love to hear more of the percussion and bass. They seem to be the foundation to help take a song from 'nice' to wow! Perhaps this is my own prejudice, but seeing the Alto's and Bassists get the center stage! (YAY!) Also thank you for explaining some of the more technical aspects with what is being done to achieve some of the sounds and such. Wanting to be better able to understand the technical aspects can also give you a far greater appreciation for the vocalist. I'd also love to see your thoughts on Nightwish's End of an Era version of Phantom of the Opera with the original female vocalist. Would like your operatic opinion of the performance.
