Man this makes me miss polishing day on my 99 379 I had lol when I took it over the driver never polished anything and when I took it over, i spent a weekend polishing everything, 10 rims, grill, tanks, breathers whale tail spoiler on top of the cab and all the stainless lights. The owner of the company didn't even recognize the truck when he came in when I was getting my load info from dispatch. He asked if that truck was new lol. Made me feel good that the owner of the company recognized all the work I put into it. The dispatchers told him I was in the yard all weekend polishing. Truck wasn't mine but I was assigned to it and I always take pride in my ride, he put a train horn on it and had 10" stacks with pickett elbows for it the very next weekend. He told me he appreciated me taking pride in the equipment. I loved that truck!

I did not notice that you put any ISO vibration stripping between the mirror brackets and the door frame. If you didn't believe me you'll find out whenever you go to back in somewhere.

Brian, in my opinion, you should restore Ole Butternut, give it some new lipstick, and turn Ricky loose on redoing The Trucking Man, and other artwork. It'll be the Semi Casual show truck.

Why not bag the front end?
@SEMICasualShowКүн бұрын
That might happen later on. Really need to find a 5in drop axle before we bag the front end.

Get rid of the stupid looking aircleaners and put either the big stainless steel aircleaners or paint the big stainless steel aircleaners and leave the bands polished and the tops and screens polished or put the steel aircleaners painted with polished or chrome bands with chrome bonnets. But those aircleaners are Freightliner aircleaners and i won't tell you how they make the truck and the truck and owner look because there maybe individuals that would take offense to it.
@MikeInBendOregonКүн бұрын
Lookin good Brian. I think you loosened the clamps on the turbo so you would have an excuse to get the shiny new turbo LOL... Do you know about how many ponies you will gain after you switch turbos, and do some tweaking on the fuel pump ? How many are you hoping for ? I hate polishing mirrors. They were never polished good when the truck was new, but it does make them look a lot nicer.

Not sure on the HP, don’t really have a target number in that regard.
@Jrs-tl4kkКүн бұрын
Horsepower is only as good as the person controlling it, if you dont know what you're doing which alot of people dont, you can destroy an entire power train real quick.
@jeffbronowicz3264Күн бұрын
Yep I you can have all the hp you want it's torque that takes over , driving a cat is totally different than a Cummins or Detroit!
@Jrs-tl4kkКүн бұрын
@jeffbronowicz3264 I'm aware I drive a 750hp 7cz cat with 2250ftlb clutch daily, completely different animal than a mechanical cat, detroit, or cummins

@Jrs-tl4kkКүн бұрын
@jeffbronowicz3264 yeah I've driven some old cabovers with big cam's in them, and my uncles 359 has a 318 detroit in it, the only detroit I've ever driven, and the cabovers are the only cummins I've driven, the rest of my 23 years of driving have been Cats. My first truck that I bought was a 94 t600 with a 5ek cat, 13 spd 3.70 rears, ran that for about 4 years, and then bought my current truck from my grandpa 03 379 exhd, 7cz cat, 18spd, 3.70 rears, 300" factory wheelbase with Canadian 60" spaced rear axles, black sapphire is the color of the truck, American class interior, back in the day it was top of the line, and even now it's a very nice truck, I'll run it until they outlaw it in my state, then probably retire, too much BS out here anymore
