Back in the 90's. My best friend used to be a long haul... in a cabover. He asked me if I wanted to go with him on some runs down to south texas so we can go hang out in Mexico. He gave me a 30 minute training on how to drive that sucker and off we went. we would double team the miles (and of course he has several log books) so it gave us a week at a time to party in Mexico. CRAZY times. Bet kids can't get away with that stuff today. But what I learned was. I HATE driving big rigs, and I can't backup for CRAP. Every drop we would do a drop I would have to wake him up to take over lol. Even today with my own company I use a pickup and currently with just a 14' trailer and hate backing it up, but I have gotten better. I'm willing to bet you would have major issues taking that rig downtown anywhere and trying to turn. Correct me if I'm wrong.

They should have painted the insert before they put it in. They can rust between the rails. I know from experience owning heavy rated livestock trucks in Australia. Laminated frames are a pain in the ass

Inner portion of original frame rails and interior portion of the sleeves are painted. Same with the exterior of the sleeves where the crossmembers or bolts are.

Stretch the truck and buy a saw to trim the trees in your yard. Frame looks like the drivers side is sagging at the front weld. Maybe it’s the angle of the driveshaft throwing it off. I’m sure they made sure it was right.
