IN THIS VIDEO WE REVISIT THE RUBBER BETWEEN THE TRUCK AND THE TANK BODY. IT WAS NO SURPRISE THAT THE OWMNER'S SUPER DUPER GLUE DIDNT WORK. THEN THEY OVERLOADED THE TRUCK WITHOUT HAVING THE USE OF THE LIFT AXLE. DROVE OVER AND RIPPED OFF THE BRAND NEW MUDFLAP. THE TRUCK IS STILL SHUTTING OF AT RANDOM TIMES. IT NEEDS A FRONT BUMPER AND SO ON.....

With the "go fund me" money plus all the other donations (money, tools, devices etc.), Halfass kustoms received over 100.000 CAD already. Therefore a decent new shop can be built for sure. Of course it's very sad to have lost so much memorabilia. But maybe his new shop will be even better than the old one ever was.

Because you know this guy for over 40 years and he always behaved the same? It definitely hurts me to hear something like this! Additionally: This video was painful to watch. Somehow the unfinished truck and the owner came back to haunt you again. Or let me better say: You let them haunt you again. Unfortunately I know things like this out of my own experience too well. Like you I often just want(ed) to help. But too often it turned out to be "casting pearls before swines", sigh. Seeing that the owner bolted the rusty, not even primed brackets onto the well painted/preserved frame, is simply terrible. You put so much work/effort into this truck and he does not care respectively seems not to appreciate this at all. Sir, to be a philanthropist and altruist does not mean that you should suffer respectively act masochistic simultaneously. I know that this is often easier said than done. All I can add is that your friend is fortunate that you will work on his truck. Your interests are that you do repairs with safety in mind first and foremost. That should be his first concern also. He seems to have cost on his mind first, which is understandable. But he needs to realize that his truck doesn't occupy the roads alone . There are other people and vehicles there too. So thank you for your concerns and the work you do to satisfy those concerns and the safety of him and others.

31:21 i've had this issue in the past, and a quick and dirty solution to get a good solid thing to work against is to put a chain around the tire, not around the axle, but the tire itself (running over the chain) and then you have top and bottom grab points to pull against to tweak stuff back into shape. The weight of the truck will keep it from moving. This works particularly good for bent stuff in the middle of the truck.

What a awesome video. Learned 2 things from this: to save your drill pits and solder wires. So for me this video already proved to be worth watching. I guess with the huge water shortage right now this truck might eventually pay itself back? I liked how you straightened the front pumper. Reminded me of a guy who tried to get left hand tread nuts off a wheel and was using one million curse words and gorilla noises mixed together. Until I told him, dude it has left hand threads. He would still not believe me until I used one of his impact guns and opened all 6 nuts for him. After that incident he took me seriously every time I walked into the shop. PS. Well done on helping Halfass customs recover from the shop fire.

You're a saint J.C.! Definitely is a frustrating situation to say the least. That truck is no doubt a roach, and of course the previous owners never addressed any of those issues or maintenance items on that drivetrain. You were dead on when you said "the more you look, the worse it gets." I was thinking that when you were showing all the leaks near the front of the motor. Having that radiator recored ain't gonna be cheap either. I can only imagine how much worse some of that stuff is in person and not on a small phone screen. I guess if there is a "bright side," at least you're getting some content out of this thing. I know you're chomping at the bit to get back on to your projects and I definitely don't blame you. You made that bumper look good BTW too! 👍

I cut up a plate 16 ft by 8 ft and the two foot squares using a skill saw with a 42 tooth carbide terribly that it it worked fine for my project I got it all cut that didn't work well when I started cutting inch-and-a-half oh I would you fix the ocean container floors I had to get a new one nice saw you have there

Those bumpers are the same gentry and son uses and sometimes have the same damage. I like from the materials you have laying around goes a long way to help your builds and others people's. When you weld goes it matter if you take the negative of the batteries to stop surges damaging the vehicles electrics like on car's. Chasing rub out wires is a pain when they could be in wrapped in wiring harness. Vibration are a pain I watch plenty of video's from vehicles to Air con units as most breaks are hidden in tubes and the only way to find is testing each wire which eats in to time.

i have heard it can harm electronics. this truck doesnt really have anything sophisticated. i dont know whether it would or not but i always disconnect the batteries just in case.

You’re allowed 34k on the tandems but if you have the 3rd axle within 9ft of the tandems than each axle only gross 13k so on that truck you can do 12ksteer 13k, 13k,13k, total 51k gvwr

I'm not surprised that it came back since you were not finished with it. This guy reminds me of the "professional trucker" that ruined that truck you purchased because the check engine was flashing and he kept going. We'll see if he puts duals on that tag axle for proper weight distribution, but my guess is he will only listen if DOT puts a OOS sticker on the windshield. I would move the plow lights lower, but its not my truck.

Just a couple observations, I was of the understanding that you don't solder wires on vehicles especially big trucks because of the vibration it can crack and break, also just because it holds 5000 gallons doesn't mean you have to put that much in it just load it to the weight the truck can handle. And that's enough straightening on the bumper it will probably get bent again.

ever module, computer and switch has solder in it....if that was the case, manufacturers wouldnt solder their splice joints when being built but they certainly do. i have never had to repair a break from a splice being soldered. everything about trucking is "payload for profit" there are not going to load it lighter if the truck can carry it. just not how trucking works.
