I have one and it's great for outlining the subject for painting.

Yes exactly outlining the big shapes only (no small tight details it is not great for those)

...Did you try focusing it? You pull the lens outward.
@PeterChorao5 жыл бұрын
Yes i try focusing the lens but it doesn't ever get a crisp photographic image and the outer edge is pretty bad- This type of projector is best for graphic bold lines not for tracing fine detail from a photo- it works for tracing the bigger overall shapes in a photo which is how i use it.

How small can the projections be/
@PeterChorao8 ай бұрын
About 8 inches, mine has a 4x4 size opening for your original and projects it 2x to 10x
@LovelVanArsdale8 ай бұрын
@@PeterChorao So it won't project same size? If I have a 4x4 image, it won't project it 4x4?
@PeterChorao8 ай бұрын
Nope. If you want to trace it same size use carbon paper or charcoal or something on back of the original or copy of original and make the tracing onto the painting support that way works great if you know what I’m saying

Does it work of you put underneath a phone or a LCD display, like a laptop or even a tv? The problem with paper is that even the black become reflective, especially if is printed on a LASER toner

This may be a dumb question but say if I wanted to put a phone in the projector to watch a movie would it work??
@PeterChorao3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but BADLY, TERRIBLE. The picture can not get crisp sharp focus it is very fuzzy and dim even in a dark room the projected image is pretty bad. You can look up ways to project from the phone I have not yet tried myself but it can be done and I imagine get better results

Not that impressive to me. I saw one for sale but this is discouraging. I think u are correct it seems best for a broad basic outline.
@wetdewlap87416 жыл бұрын
All you have to do is move a few inches forward or backward to get a crisp clean picture. Hope that helps you.
@PeterChorao6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but the projector i have cannot achieve crisp and clear in terms of a photographic image Especially towards the outer edges. Moving it a few inches also makes a drastically larger or smaller image. Crisp and clear would require a better projector :) a digital projector for instance can actually achieve crisp and clear
@wetdewlap87416 жыл бұрын
From the distance that you were and moving a couple inches, I don't think it would have made it crazy small.. I have a different brand but same product.. if I have to enlarge, I use a graph and enlarge my image doing it in sections. Ps. The projectors are just too damn expensive so I have to do what I can to work with what I have. Sick of spending money on bs. I hear ya! Lol

Did you put a light bulb in it? Or does your's actually have a malfunction in the electric circuits? Any standard bulb fits, CFL rather than incandescent is what i would recommend because it doesn't get so hot. They may be out of business as you say but hopefully you can return it from where you bought it or get a refund? Anyone interested I can assure you it works be it pretty wonky, digital projectors much better shop around there could be better prices on the market by now. Cheaper ones i saw back then had a very large minimum projection size not what I wanted.
@Polecat549414 жыл бұрын
These are absolute junk, if they were designed for artists why would the picture have to be square!
@PeterChorao4 жыл бұрын
Yeah true no comparison to a digital projector but sufficient for tracing big shapes. very fuzzy picture basically a kids toy. A digital projector that projects small size images not giant screen only cost a lot and I don't have much use for it in my work
@Polecat549414 жыл бұрын
@@PeterChorao You really need a DLP camera which cost around $60 second hand and can project 5" to 120" clear as crystal, I am a bit pissed off they market these Cheap toys as Artist tools and charge 5 times what it is worth :)
