Makes sense. Most of us have to go somewhere each day. If it's not vehicles then it's everything below the waist since that's where our inbuilt vehicles are.

Driving has always been an odd concept to me. It’s weird when you consider how it’s essentially a basic necessity for most people at this point, we all do it, but it’s actually significantly dangerous. The United States National Safety Council collects all the data on automobile incidents and, if I remember correctly, they’ve come to the conclusion that if you get into an automobile accident in The US you have a 1 in 93 chance of dying in that accident. In general, according to ensures data of accident claims, for every 1000 miles driven, your chances of getting into a crash are 1 in 366. Over 2 million people are hurt in accidents every year and in the same breath 77% of drivers attest to having been in at least one accident in their life. Driving is seriously no joke, it’s completely risky.

This is why some states, like Hawaii, require front and rear license plates. I hope they find the fool. Possibly unlicensed/uninsured or has warrants.

I'm glad you are okay and that the head bump wasn't too serious! Anything car related is always stressful but at least it seems like your car insurance made it really easy for you to get a safe car, even if for a little while.

A few months ago we'd just purchased a used but nice Tahoe. I was driving my mother to work, and we were stopped at this exact type of intersection. The light turned green. I started through, and just like in your video, a guy started making a left turn. I tapped on the break, but he stopped, or at least seemed to be stopping, so I kept going. And so did he. At that point I realized I simply didn't have time to stop anymore. I leaned on the break and drifted rightward, and if at any point the other car would have simply braked or decelerated-he was only going maybe 5 to 10 miles per hour max-it would have been avoided, but that car kept going, I went as far right as I could without going into a ditch or other traffic, and _bam!_ This actually inspired us to get a dash-cam. I recall, as I was watching in that odd time-warp the other car listing lazily and inexorably toward me, I kept glancing up to ensure the light actually was green so that I didn't feel bad about the incident that was just about to occur.

Good afternoon, Peter. The tornado warnings and watches are finally passed so I thought I'd come out and join you. I'm sorry to hear you were in an accident. Glad you weren't hurt. I used to use those kind of books when I did reenacting. I used pencil, colored pencil, or charcoal mainly with them, though. Awesome artwork!

Your car was totaled. Friend of mine was side swiped and his car was totaled. But because the air bags failed to deploy, the hospital assumed it wasn't that serious. He had a goose egg on his forehead, but pain on the back of his head. So he had hit both and didn't realize it. Turned out he had a severe concussion that lasted for many months. I'm glad I took photos of the damage to the car when i picked him up. The other car pretty much sheared off the front of his car. You do have awesome insurance, with rental and replacement value. I'm glad that you think you're OK, but you still could have a concussion

Glad you are OK, but my goodness you could do without needing to call emergency services for a while!! Loved these drawings. Very satisfying the way the ink bled out into the page (even thought that would annoy me if I were the one drawing). I think that colour of the paper really gave them some energy or dimension. The cover of that book is amazing.

I like your discription of a weird day. As I was watching you draw and listening to your story, I kept thinking what it be like to draw on a banana skin or an orange peel. I have an orange so I'll save the peel and try to draw on it. I may have to try paining it. But I'll have to wait to test the banana skin out. Anyway I'm glad your ok.

Glad you’re ok..yes def things go in slow motion..i rolled a car in my 20’s and i remember seeing the ground slowly come right up in my face…and the incredible noise of things crunching and flying around…no injuries except bruises on my thighs from the steering wheel. I was also hit by a drunk driver…now some 40 ish years later im always aware of cars near me while driving. Enjoy your new car.

that sketchbook looks like recycled cotton rag paper!! i have one of my own, i love using it for gouache and watercolours since it's so absorbent. gouache sits on top of it so nicely, and i haven't had any issues with paint cracking as i turn the pages either :D glad you're mostly okay and that your insurance was able to help you out. i still come back to your channel after years and years of watching you, and i'm happy to say i'm still brought the same comfort and peace as the first video i ever saw from you :)

I just got rear-ended by a hit-and-run driver too! I was on the way home from ash wednesday Mass and then BOOM. They sped away. No injuries, no airbags. It was a very mild bump, no head injuries at all. One of my taillights was totally obliterated and that rear section of the car was kinda squished together. My insurance ended up deciding my car was totaled. 2012 Chevy Impala. I loved that car so much. and just because it’s “so old,” the cost to fix it was more than the estimated value… so I am currently looking for a new car. Which is very painful because if I want anything reliable that isn’t already a decade old, it’s going to have what is basically a crappy ipad in it instead of buttons and knobs and dials. I’m really pissed off actually. All because some loser had no regard for anyone’s safety and was probably staring at his phone (or maybe *his* car ipad) or something.

I do the same thing where I draw a picture with markers and then I use the bleed through page to make another drawing.
