Was excited to see you play the first board, I chose a slightly different line of knocking out the ace of hearts when I won the third club since I believe the robots were 5-5 majors so I knew east wouldn't have a heart when they won the king of diamonds

Doubling to start on board 4 got me to 3N+2 and 100% easily enough after partner showed clubs following a support redouble, helped by a very handy low spade lead. I did double them on 6 and ended with 0% as a result through bad defence. Actually made 3 on board 7, started with a low heart and West jumped up with the jack - spade to the ace, low heart to king, I duck East's diamond continuation then West cashes the queen making my jack good. They then exit a spade, and East is then squeezed when I cash the red suit winners

And on the third board I went insane and opened 1NT, denied a major on stayman and accepted the robots invite

Board 7 I made 9 tricks for 100%! At trick 2 I played small H and W took J and exited with 10S to my A. Another H to 10 and K, E playing D through to W. W cashed QD and played second spade, I unblocked with Q. Now cash my red winners and E is squeezed in the blacks to give me 9th trick!

85.7%, three 100s, and should have been four 100s and 89.3%. I actually blew board 1 by forgetting the bidding and playing diamonds when I should have played on hearts, but still got 71% for that It was all uphill from there. The computer defense was awful this week. On board 4, I didn't duck the queen of spades return and West, apparently badly misled by the "15-17" 1NT overall, discarded wrong twice and I ended up taking the rest for 240. Board 7, I tried a low heart at trick two (won by West's jack), followed by another to the ten and king after winning the spade switch. Now a diamond comes through, and when West mistakenly cashes the second top diamond, the count is rectified for a black suit squeeze on East, and I actually made the hand. Board 8, I still can't fully explain what happened. I ducked a heart at trick three, West switched to a spade and I won and sent one back. Now West found diamonds, but by this time East had thrown two of them so they only had four to cash. By this time I was down to HAxx and a club on the board, and a heart, AJ of clubs and my long spade in hand. West exited a heart and I had no option but ace of hearts, ace of clubs, spade. Again, I don't fully know how the bots reasoned, but they both knew my last card couldn't be the jack of clubs, since that would mean I had opened 1NT on 14. Bottom line, they both threw their club honors, and now my impossible jack of clubs was my seventh trick and my third 100% score.

How is the comparison field and scores determined in the Weekly Frees?

The hands are sourced from other robot tournaments that have been played previously. Maybe like a year ago. They select usually 15 players from a random robot tournament I believe.

Board 1: I felt disgusted when I misplayed the hand and made 9 tricks rather then the obvious 10 by playing to knock out the entry to the 5 card spades first, and not to the 3card, It still gave me 100% for some reason... Board 2, I valued as 18, opened 1D so 3NT from North, again 9 for 100%, started to look like a theme, but no ;)

Hand 1 Why not lead a low diamond towards your queen at trick 5 or 6? I think you did so well on the and because you finessed the Jh. That certainly seems sound, but it feels really stupid when it fails since it seems to create an unnecessary loser, though that may be an illusion.

I was currently in the south hand so trying to work out the best way to get to the north hand. If I finesse diamonds and it loses I can't ever play on hearts but if I finesse hearts and it loses I can play on diamonds later. With hearts if I play a heart to the queen I suddenly have heart weaknesses.

The field was trash this week. I got 3 100%s but topped out at 70% because I was too aggressive on #3. 1. I absolutely hate this hand. 15 count, scattered values, 4-3-3-3 distribution, no spots. Sue me but I downgraded to 1C and was rewarded with 100% anyway since no one in the field managed to make 3NT. 6. I never got a diamond lead from declarer but still, nice play by you to find the KC return to screw up the opps' communication. 7. I did attack hearts early for 3NT= (100%).
