A big shock at the time. Stefka became a mother at the start of 1995 and nobody believed that she could make the world champs, let alone win the title especially after her poor performances in Barcelona and Stuttgart. Maybe the fact that she had absolutely no pressure worked in her favour. On the other hand, Inga was the dominant jumper throughout 1995, but nerves got the better of her.

Stefka Kostadinova, became a mother at the start of 1995, so she was pregnant here WTF, then after the birth she was back after couple of months to won 1996 Atlanta Olympic gold medal. She is a one in a life time legend, remember this!

Yes, but Kostadinova is magnificent in every sense. Nothing but sheer power and grace and ferocity...everything you need to be the absolute best in this evernt.

Kostadinova still holds the world record set 32 years ago. Technique and training in the women's high jump apparently has not made any progress since the late 1980s.

Sadly, Kostandinowa also had an episode of doping.
@pukulu4 жыл бұрын
@@MsSlucyna interesting, I didn't know that. Steroids add muscularity which is really helpful in a lot of strength events but less so in technical events like the high jump. Other kinds of PEDs I don't know much about.

@@pukulu Those were the days...the same story as with Marlene Ottey, an extraordinary talented athlete. She admitted having been doped for a while when she realised that competing clean she wouldn't have had any chance among all East Germans, Griffit-Joyners etc. Stefka also got tempted at some point. Besides, Bulgarians like Jordanka Donkowa used to be stuffed up their nostrils.
@pukulu4 жыл бұрын
@@MsSlucyna Merlene Ottey did not adversely affect her health by using PEDs. She remained healthy and fit well into her 40s and early 50s. She looked feminine but strong.

How come you can hear the crowd with 1995 audio and in 2018, you don't hear shit. Crowd sucks today? Too many people watching at home? Audio sucks today?

It is true that back then more people would attend.But at big events stadiums nowadays are also full.Probably it has something to do with technology and better isolation.
@srxt6758 Жыл бұрын
Olympics and athletics in general fell off. Even athletes are saying that they cant believe people still attend. Social media and the fact everything is accesible people became too lazy to go to events or simply found another way of entertaining themselves.

Transgenders high jump . How many are real women ?
@helenvancougat37706 жыл бұрын
Uhhh,,,VITA kyo you aren't real sharp are you? All of them are/were married with children. Just to make your day, Kostadinova has been married twice, had a son with her first husband, and is the current chair of the Bulgarian National Olympic Committe. She is married to her second husband at this time. Just because these women are tall and slim does not make them transpeople. They are all pretty robust heterosexual women. Ironically the only out lesbian high jumper is the straight man's favourite, Kajsa Bergqvist
@vitakyo9826 жыл бұрын
Helen Van Cougat I'm so sorry , its so hard to tell without a chromosom analyze ... Analyze they still don't use to figure out , but this might be due to the number of transgenders in the Olympic Committee . Instead of finding out the biological sex of the person with 100% certainty , they use criterions like hormones levels & how much the athlete "feels" being a woman , which is the best way not to find out . I must conclude that there is no will from the authorities to ban transgenders from female's competitions , & that will destroy women's sports contests & in the future , all women's world records will be held by men ( it's already the case for some of them ) ... I've been looking for photos of these athletes being pregnant , but i couldn't find any ...

Being tall and slender does not make you a man, on the contrary. In fact, high jumpers make the most feminine group of athletes, and the most attractive one.

I bet the only jumping this guy does is when his wife comes home from work and tells him to make her dinner.
