There's nothing like an engineer explaining how to do it. Brilliant!

That's as cool as it gets!! I'm a blues harp player and needed some "self made bass thump," you solved the mystery! Many thanks!

I recently attended the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention in Nashville. Lots of the solo players were using some version of a stomp drum. Really neat! Most of them had only one sound, so I like the rattle option on this one. And it didn't cost $300 bucks either. Big Ron

Sounds great! I'm assuming that the transformer is for impedance matching? What do you recommend for amplification?

Good sounding stomp box. A little info please. What's the spec's on the transducers that your using. The text say's other transducers won't work or sound different. Are they piezo transducers I would like to build a stomp box like this and don't want to wast my time or money on the wrong piezo's

Question Peter - They way it is setup would require 3 channels, four if you run a mic too. Is there a way to wire a jack to the box to plug the guitar into and loop it with both pickups resulting in a single output jack?

Interesting fact for you. Sir Humphry made a bit of a mess of naming this new element, at first spelling it alumium (this was in 1807) then changing it to aluminum, and finally settling on aluminium in 1812. His classically educated scientific colleagues preferred aluminium right from the start, because it had more of a classical ring, and chimed harmoniously with many other elements whose names ended in -ium, like potassium, sodium, and magnesium, all of which had been named by Davy. :)

Most of the sound is in the transducer used and not so much the timber...Basically if you use a normal pickup and stick it on a small wooden box, it will sound like a small wooden box... only louder!! In order to get that BIG BASS sound that people want, you can't use a normal pickup or microphone, it needs to be designed to produce bass.... check out my DIY range of transducers! they will do the trick!

Ok hi all! Let's not dwell on the pronunciation of aluminium or aluminum... I think most people know what I mean... Anyway! The unit can be wired to use one output, I will post a diagram on my website... It's really easy just a couple of resistors! Oh and yes it's not a piezo for bass, and the transformer is for the impedance! Stomping for two hours?? Yes bloody hard work... But being a muso is not easy!!! (It gets easier with practice)
