@AllThingsFilm16 жыл бұрын
Finally, a realistic review. I've used my Ronin S on two feature films. I have over 40 hours of experience with the Ronin S. Not the usual 2 hours MANY content creators have when posting their reviews online. Some of the complaints are really a result from not using the Ronin S enough. Gimbals are not created equal. They all have their own characteristics that must be understood and adapted to. The weight? I used mine for 14 hours straight, and I put it down on its tripod a couple times. Realistically, you'll get better with the Ronin S the more you use it. Which holds true for any gimbal or gear. There's a good reason the Ronin S is constantly selling out. I just saw a Ronin S review this morning where total disinformation was put forth by a pretty well known content creator for cameras and gear. I won't say who, because it's about the content of their video, not about them. They said that the follow focus feature DOES NOT work. They left out the fact that follow focus DOES work with the Panasonic GH5/GH5s, just not HIS camera. To leave out such information is dishonest and sloppy. DJI said compatibility with other cameras is coming. As would be expected from any NEW product. I know I sound a bit pissed. LOL. Well, I am. In the case of the Ronin S, I know from having real world experience that a lot of reviews for it are not realistic or fair. As I mentioned before, many reviewers of the Ronin S have spent very little time with it. Often a mere 2-4 hours. Which isn't a lot of time to become acquainted with almost any piece of equipment, like the Ronin S. I will try to find time to make my own review of the Ronin S. I think it's important to try out new gear in real world situations before passing judgment on its use and abilities. Cheers.

Amazing! Another thing that was not mentioned at all which is one of the most useful features of this gimbal is the ability to preprogram the movements. It doesn´t matter if it´s a timelapse or not, the fact that you can replicate any movement of the camera with incredible precision is amazing if you want to replicate yourself in a panning shot or combine multiple different timelapses or anything basically. Enough of my blabbering, can´t wait to pick this thing up tomorrow!

keep in mind the ronin s is double the weight of the crane v2 4lb vs 2lb. as a traveler its a pretty big dealbreaker. FeiyuTech A1000 is a good option if your camera+lens is within it's max weight limit of 3.7lbs. Obviously it's not as good as the Ronin-S but it has many of the same features and cost less than half of it at 320$. Probably one of the better gimbal options if you're on a budget

Imagine a using this with a panasonic gh5, and a stabilized lens You get In body stabilization Lens stabilization Gibal stabilization And to make you footage even smoother you can shoot at high frame rates and do slo mo and even add warp stabilizer in post if you want but it would probably be unnecessary and make.little to no difference but still, all methods of stabilization combined would be phenomenal
@CSGPhotos6 жыл бұрын
Tarek Al-Shawwa if it is like the DJI Osmo, you have to turn off the camera stabilization, or the two will counteract with each other and make your film jittery.

What camera are you using? I really think this is a great replacement for the Ronin M. It's a lot quicker/easier to set up and balance. It's a lot more mobile. It's got some great features like the Focus wheel, and the ability to power your camera. If you compare side by side, I don't think the Ronin M has anything unique to offer vs Ronin S

Great video reminding us of the importance of gimbals when shooting videos! As an international traveler and only an enthusiast, not a pro, size matters to me. I can't bring the bigger gimbals with me when I travel, because when I travel I like to bring clothes, save room for gifts/souvenirs in my luggage that large camera gear stops me from doing. For those who just want to bring a cell I strongly recommend such gimbals as the Z smooth X with an expandable selfie stick; for those with a small point and shoot, such as the Sony X1000 series cameras, the Crane M2, and, in my case, the Weebill S for the smaller size Sony A6600 camera I use. Thanks, Peter for generating this discussion:)
