I’ve been to every nation state in Europe, even the micro ones, besides San Marino, and everywhere I went, people would assume I’m an american, because of my popular-culture mimicked accent, and are always surprised to know that I’m an Arab from Abu Dhabi, and that I have never been to the US before. This video showcases the beauty of California as a state, and how diverse it is, rather than the stereotypical images we see from LA & SF. There is so much more to see, and if I ever make it to California, I would love to move around the state itself, rather than confine myself to LA or SF, or even San Diego. Cool video, beautiful scenery! I wish you and your wife, nothing short of utmost bliss.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, those concrete structures which you can find all over the coastlines around San Francisco and the Marin headlands are actually from World War 2, they were Naval Gun emplacements to protect the San Francisco Bay Area from possible Japanese attack and or invasion. The missile sites you were referring to are the old cold war Nike missile batteries. There were 11 installations on the coast and the 2 closet to San Francisco are Pacifica and Mill Valley.

Hello from Sacramento - we have a HUGE Ukranian emigre community - big enough to host lots of refuge Ukranians who fled with Putin invaded. The terrain of the opening footage made me think it was in Monterrey - close but south of Monterrey. Really cool planned community and is far nicer than the gated planned communities all over California - they are all very sterile, like styrofoam - but this one is really beautiful. Probably back in 1962 when it was built a 3 bedroom was $8,000 - now it is probably several million!

That military site was likely part of Forts Baker, Barry, and Cronkhite-coastal defense artillery sites.. There were a number of coastal defense batteries built in the late 1800's and early 1900's, long before the Cold War. They used large artillery cannons that could destroy enemy naval forces. They defended the area against a feared Japanese invasion during WW2. By the time the Cold War started, these sites were obsolescent.

@@rexx9496 not everywhere in California is expensive. There are places where property and rents are cheap. It's just the big cities that are expensive. I worked as an X-ray tech/medical assistant out in the desert like 10 years ago, and lived in a little valley just north of palm springs. $15 per hour was enough to pay my $400 rent and bills in a 4 bedroom house with a pool with 2 friends. Total rent was $900 on that house and it had a pool so every night I got off work at 8 (I worked noon-8, it was perfect), and came home to a party with all the people in their 20s in the surrounding areas. It was great. I could have afforded to live there on my own (sometimes I had to pay all the rent and bills because my roommates were electricians who lost their jobs and were on unemployment when I moved in which quickly ran out). I also had a girl who pretty much lived there that I supported too. Anyways Cali is so big that it has every type of climate...mountains, beaches, desert, forests, etc. LA, SF, and SD are expensive to live in, but if you don't wanna live in a city the cost of living goes waaay down while the minimum wage stays the same.

I love watching your tours! So much fun! This one is special for me! My parents took our family out west in 1977! We went on alot of the roads u traveled during this trip! We went from the coast from Portland Oregon down the coast to San Fran! So I really enjoyed this ride! Also your wife is so beautiful just love u both

I swim at China Beach. Marc Benihoff (2nd home) bought Helen Ann’s house where you turn to go down the hill. He uses it for his security. There’s lots of empty houses in the neighborhood so if you’re enterprising might find a way to stay in one as house sitter. They’re some boxing 🥊 enthusiast Ukrainians who own homes in the neighborhood as I’ve met them at parties on the beach. Partied with the French speaking Swiss Counsel at his residence and ate delicious croissants 🥐 in his outdoor space. It’s a not so intimidating 😎 place and people, most of them not born in USA 🇺🇸, are passionate about the neighborhood and keeping the beach available to the public unlike the East Coast.

Wow! This series is great…seeing Peter & Nana Together. Iv been south of the border for a Long time …but seeing Nevada City, SEA RANCH… Imagine a bathtub with that beautiful view. so many old great memories! Sadly, at this time…both Kiev & San Francisco are deserts of pain. Nothing lasts forever.

the best thing here is it reminds me of all of these places which we went and visited alot of times pre covid. We almost got a house in Nevada City but the Covid delayed our plans. Hiway 1, the Tahoe to SF, thanks for bringing back memories, show her Big Sur and the seals!- Bay Area resident

@@umbrellacorp3889 They occupied a part of Ukraine -Cremia and East of Donbass. Killed in Ukraine about 13000 Ukrainian citizens. Russia now is under of international sanction because of that. For most Ukrainians russia is a piece of junk now.

Cool to see you back in the USA buddy. I grew up and lived in NorCal for 20 years and never seen any of this. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy some authentic Mexican food for me while you're there, and some In & Out. =)
