Great?? You start and end saying not to buy these pipes, then spend 16+ min.'s of dribble saying how great they are! This dry humor is confusing and a waste of my time. Especially for a new pipe smoker. At least you could of told us the difference between them.
@2ampipeonthepatio Жыл бұрын
I’m sorry, you must be young. These pipes are great, go buy them. There is little difference between the three other than a slight difference in shape. If you go to the Peterson website and look up the three model numbers you will see the slight difference in shape. I’m sorry I didn’t coddle you like you wanted, that’s not what I do, i already raised my kids. I sit in my yard and smoke my pipe and have a conversation while filming it. Just like I would do with my friends at the pipe shop. Should you ever get friends, maybe ones who smoke a pipe and sit with them you will find there is a great deal of humor involved, some of it even dry humor. What you won’t find is entitled little babies that want everything breastfed to them by their mommies. I suggest you suck it up buttercup.

@@2ampipeonthepatio Wow, I think you have stretched that skin a little too thin there 'Onion'. First your dead wrong assuming I'm young. I turned 63 last month. It's obvious you have an issue with younger people. Not a good way to recruit the next generation of pipe smokers. Wait, maybe that was some of that dry humor you was talking about. Your buddy Curmudgeon thinks I need to practice this art form, so I'll give it a shot. I really like watching your lengthy, informative videos. I think I'll subscribe and watch all of them! @@2ampipeonthepatio Honestly, that is a total douche response to @v-man5469 legit criticisms. As a new pipe smoker, he is looking for information, and here you are mumbling for nearly 19 minutes (none of it remotely funny or "dry humor") without saying anything of any note that would help someone learn the difference between the three Peterson models listed in the title. When he points this out to you, all you can do is respond with a bunch of snark. You're a very poor example of the otherwise very generous and affable community of pipe smokers, who love to share their knowledge without having to crap all over people who are trying to gain knowledge.

I finally purchased a Peterson System P-Lip pipe tonight and am really looking forward to trying it out! I went with the 306, since I like a big hefty pipe and don't have the molars necessary to clench a pipe so I'll just be holding it all the time. I do smoke my pipe a lot on dog walks though and often have to set the pipe down to wrangle unruly canines, so the flat bottom and the idea of not having to stop and run a pipe cleaner through my pipe to clear out gurgles mid-walk was very appealing. I think the 306 should suit my needs very nicely! =)

Thank you for your videos. I am a newer pipe smoker. Been smoking a pipe for about 6 months. I love my corn cob pipes ( have about 10) and I have 3 Dr Graybows that I enjoy. I have watched a lot of videos and don't really understand the more expensive pipes I figure briar is briar but I need to find out for myself. I debated on Savanelli 614 and Peterson 314. I JUST ordered a Peterson 314 and will be in next week. I am a clencher and these seem to clench easy. The 317 looked a little to small so I got the 314. Watching your videos helped me make my desision and wanted to thank you. And it has the P-lip. We shall see.

@tonydevinci1031 Жыл бұрын
Peterson pipes, in addition to being very beautiful, are very good smokers. There is just one thing to know: you have to clean the "system" just after you have finished smoking, still hot. That's why the metal ring is there, so that the briar does not expand and break. If you let the pipe cool down and clean afterwards...a terrible smell will develop.
@wolf73799 ай бұрын
Thank you very much for that piece of information. First time I've heard of it. I hope your information is true because I do get nervous about cleaning a pipe when it is still warm. I don't have a system pipe yet. I have never found a pipe I truly liked. There was always some feature I did not like. For the first time I ordered recently a Peterson pipe (Peterson Aran Rustic Bent Billiard Pipe X220). As soon as I lit my Peterson pipe and put it to my lips it felt completely right for me. The shape, quality, looks and feel of it was perfect. I have ordered another two Peterson pipes of the Aran range.

Smoking my first bowl out of a brand new 313 right now. Not my first Peterson but the first system I'm trying. First P-lip too. Don't know if I'll like the P-lip. I do like the idea of the system. I love full-bent pipes for the way they hang/clench so easy. But they do gurgle a lot in general. Maybe the "system" is the answer.

@@2ampipeonthepatio Three whole days in now. So far, I LOVE it. I got really lucky with this one I think. The last Peterson I bought a couple years ago (02XL Killarney Red) was NASTY breaking it in. I think it was one of the ones they let the stain on the inside of the bowl. This new system pipe had a carbon treatment but it wasn't bad tasting at all. I filled it up about a third of the way with Butternut Burley for the first bowl and the cake started pretty good on the first try. That has never happened to me before. I had doubts about the P-lip but it's fine. Never burned the roof of my mouth. Hangs on your teeth so easy. Smoked two bowls the first day, 3 yesterday, and 3 today. Mostly PA. Already have a nice even cake starting from the top all the way down. For such a small bowl it gives a long smoke, because I have had no trouble smoking it all the way down. All my other pipes have fatter and deeper bowls but they smoke wet and I end up with a 3rd of a bowl of soaking wet tobacco in the bottom I end up throwing away. I just thought that was going to be the price of smoking pipes for me. This smokes so cool and dry all the way down. I don't even have any liquid in the system reservoir when the bowl is done. So it's sort of like since the "system" is there, I don't need the "system" but I do because when it's not there it's a mess. I will try more systems for sure. I bought a slightly used Deluxe System 8s today off a pipe forum classified today. Same bowl size as the 313 but in the light natural finish, it's beautiful. Can't wait to get it. If it smokes even close to as good as this one I'll be happy.

@@johnmoore8067 fantastic! I love the small bowls on the 300 series, I usually smoke large bowls like Savinelli 320’s but I’ve fallen for these little Peterson’s! I’m glad you are enjoying it and getting great smokes from it! As long as you don’t freight train it you shouldn’t have any problems burning your mouth, just smoke it slow and easy, sip it.

@@2ampipeonthepatio Broken in now. Smokes great every time. I have at least a couple bowls a day out of it. Dependable workhorse. I smoke mostly PA, it's just extra sweet and cool all the time from this. The 8s is about the same size, came with a ghost of something strong and smokey, latakia probably. But once that was gone same as the 313, sweet cool dry smoke every time. I will obtain even more systems. Want to try some bigger ones next.
