The wedding ceremony of 'The Hybrid Couple'
On Saturday, November 9, 2024, artist Alicia Framis married Ailex, an interactive hologram powered by artificial intelligence. Never before has a woman married an AI hologram. Marriage raises questions about the future of relationships and technology. The ceremony will take place in the Depot of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam at 3:45 PM. Boijmans Van Beuningen depot AI plays an increasingly important role in personal life and in the fulfillment of all kinds of (emotional) needs. But where are the limits of these applications when it comes to our emotional lives? The marriage between Alica Framis and Ailex is not only an artistic performance, but also a serious exploration of crucial questions about our time: what role can AI play in a human's emotional life? Is technology the key to happiness? Can AI meet the emotional conditions necessary for a good marriage? What is the balance of power between people and technology in this relationship?
