Update to my previous post.... I'm 64, play in South Florida, 12 handicap, using the Paradym 9 degree driver set to +1. I'm a golf shaft addict. Recently, I saw the videos on the Accra 140 M0 and had to get one. Right now that's what is in the driver. Today my friend let me test out the Special Joy Freeflex special 38. It reminded me of the autoflex, but without the loss of control. Hit some real long drives today. It just seemed very easy to hit straight down the middle. There definitely is some magic in this freeflex shaft. I also like that it comes in a dark blue which matches my paradym perfectly.

Hi Peter, I was an autoflex sf405 user for a while and saw distance gains. Then I tried the brava and saw dispersion gains. And finally, I got a vanquish 4 stiff regular and can't believe how good it is. Almost same distance as AF and brava, but with the straightest flight and super tight dispersion. I just point and shoot my driver now with little to no fear. The FF is very intriguing and I am glad you did this video.

Awesome review, Peter! The spine indicator shows where the shaft was pured from the manufacturer. It has the tighest tolerance for the exactness of the pured spine, but it has the same effect as any other pured shafts in terms of putting it in an adjustable hosel. :) Also, the tapered tip allows it to be tipped upto an inch without affecting performance. More can be seen on their website's FAQ section. Keep up the great work!!

On their website they mention the spline mark can be turned/rotated slightly right (encourages a draw) or left (encourages a fade). Also I think your spin number differences (AF vs FF) affect the roll out distance (higher being less).

FreeFlex got my attention as the one that offers a shaft for the 65 to 90 mph swing speed category. Competitors offer a shaft that starts at 70 mph swing speed.

If that seam inside is intentional, the shaft is illegal. You can't manufacturer a shaft that is deliberately "out of round" to make one orientation bend differently. Check the rules, that's a serious problem.

Oh man, that is such a good question. I'll have to test em for length. I can tell you right now that I love the Brava feel. It feels much more like a standard shaft. The whippiness of the Freeflex and Autoflex take some getting used to. Now, I can play with it, but I can also understand why some people bail because it probably took me a full season to get used to it. If you don't like the noodly feel, the Brava is much more traditional.

Great question! I swap between 2 shafts depending on where I'm playing. One is a Freeflex (like an autoflex) and the other is the BGT Brava shaft. Freeflex gives me a little more yardage, but wider dispersement. Let me know if you have any questions!

I play a pxg black ops driver 9 degree 90mph swing speed quick tempo so I normally need a stiff tip shaft. One day just for fun I put in my friends a flex project x cb riptide a flex 3 wood shaft and slowed my swing down and was hitting some great drives. I guess the shorter shaft and lighter weight was good but when I tried to speed things up I was missing left and right. Tried 2 autoflex shafts in the past and it didn't work for my tempo.
