I've suspected what you are saying for a long time now. Not just the idea of more woodshed time.. but this idea of finding your "sometimes playable notes and getting used to utilizing them into a progressive routine. Your thoughts all make a huge amount of sense to me. Thank you.

The light came on for me when I purchased the Trombonisims book by Bill Watrous. This is where it all comes from. After Bill passed tragically a few years ago, I joined his widow's Facebook discussion. She told me that Bill practice eight hours a day for his whole life!

I want to increase my range for 2 reasons, 1 hit the Super F in a Sonic Boom solo and 2 the Super G in Binary Sunset, Star Wars theme. They’re both dope and the other things are just a bonus. I’m not a Trumpet player wishing to play higher than everyone else I’m a Euph player hoping to hit high notes cause they sound cool if I can make them sound cool. Same with low currently rocking a pretty easy Pedal D and High F in very consistent, sometimes the Gb to Bb somewhat squeak up to the Super D and barely not even a note anything higher up to the F which is the highest I’ve hit but it sounded bad and weak but one day I’ll get there in probably 4ish months if I practice enough

Keep working and be patient. If one exercise is not helping, try other ones. I have a bunch of videos that help me. I am currently working on higher notes but concentrating on endurance in my upper register so I can hit high notes whenever I want to and consistently.
