I just bought a 2017 Malibu 2 weeks ago and as I was driving the message came up I was so spooked scared I had 2 of my kids with me as I was only driving at 30 mph almost cried no joke I was about 5 minutes from home got there turned off the engine waited about 15 seconds turned it on again it was still there looked it up like crazy after seeing this video I was curios looked and I saw the same blue mark 😮 I was like omg now I have to buy a new one

That could be many things. Unfortunately it will require some troubleshooting

when the alignment sensors are already on the car and the before alignment specs are recorded I can do a 4 wheel alignment on a honda accord in 10 minutes its totally easy. the hardest part is getting the readings in the first place. if the alignment is off be 4 degrees it can be like driving on ice on wet roads

I’m stuck in Orlando from South Carolina with this problem. I have oil and I’m not overheating. I had it diagnosed as a bad fuel pressure censor I bought the part and hopefully I can have it fixed this morning

What about if it only goes in to reduce power mode when I put the gas pedal to the floor? I've replaced the part and still have the issue.

That's a tough one, it could be the throttle position sensor

I have a Buick enclave 2014 and the code I keep getting is… P1682 Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2…And it says Engine power reduced then It just shuts off . And I “was” able to cut it off and back on after a few seconds. I had it “fixed “ by a mechanic last week and he said he deleted a bunch of codes, he said that it was just the brain and it was backed up. But since he did that a few days ago. It has gotten 10x worse. It used to just shut off and then after a few seconds cut back on, but NOW it shakes when it’s about to cut off. And says I engine power reduced still. And it took 5 minutes to cut back on this time (today) I was STUCK at a red light while cars honked at me because my car wouldn’t start (the nerve) 😓🤧 It is very scary❗️I have 4 kiddos and today it cut off on me (AGAIN) and my kids on the freeway. I had to hurry up and swerve over to the side lane.

Didn’t know this. Love to gather new information before it actually happens to me. Currently helping a friend troubleshoot a reduced power traction control issue. Parts cannon so far, new spark plugs, did not help. Coils appear ok… so now the #1 suspect is the throttle body. Any suggestions?

Thanks Pete. I have a 2019 Denali and a few days ago I experienced the loss of power. I pulled over right away and checked coolant and oil. All ok. How long can I drive until this happens again? I’m overspending on Christmas gifts right now and I can’t really afford to purchase the replacement part until next week when I get paid.

I've had 5 mechanics, including GM mechanics, replaced everything the computer tells me to replace, everything that GM suggest, sometimes more than once, plus extra grounding was done. None of it worked. Last time GM mechanic said computer recommends replace TAC module, which has been done twice and if this does not work there is nothing we can do. Dah, would you ever tell anyone that? shared issue with GM and they said we will get back to you; well they have not and are not interested. Any suggestions?

I have a 2013 sonic 1.4 turbo and I was driving my car all of a sudden got louder so I tried to get home then the engine power reduce light came on and my car went to 5mph then it cut off and I tried to turn it back on and no response so months later I took it to a shop they replaced the body control module and the car worked great for 3 days and it went back to the same issue so I took it back and they couldn’t find the issue , so far I replaced the starter , ignition switch , battery and still no solution so the shop installed a button to start the car which it’s wired to the starter so when the car don’t start from the key I have to hold the button to start so I drove it back home the engine reduce came back on again and I just left it parked and I still can’t figure it out

2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0, Reduced Engine Power showed up in the information window one morning. Codes that came up ....P2125 and P1125. I replaced the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor but still have a P1125 code and Reduced Engine Power message is still present. The dealership said that the Accelerator peddle position sensor and throttle position sensors are not talking ro each other, so i changed the Throttle position sensor. That didn't change anything, still have a P1125 code and Reduced Engine Power message. Do those sensors need to be calibrated after replacing them is my question? Thank you for your videos.

You're right, sometimes these sensors need to be calibrated or re-learned by the PCM

I have a 2007 colorado I am getting "reduced engine power " only when it's below freezing there are no codes on the scan tool I'll wait until it gets warmer outside and it cranks fine I took it to a mechanic he let it outside his shop on a cold night and it wouldn't crank then he waited about 45 minutes after the temperature got above freezing and it cranked fine he has his scan tool hooked up to it not showing any fault codes

I’ve been looking at getting a Chevy Malibu been doing a lot of research on it. If you didn’t already get a new Accelerator Pedal….. it might be High Pressure Fuel Pump roller follower pin walking contacting the cylinder head that and will put the car in reduce power mode its was a problem with the 2016-2019 1.5 engines You can look online GM posted about it ‘ PIP5610 maybe that might help you

And you can’t really find anything on KZbin or google talking about that issue with the pin hitting the cylinder head so I guess it’s doesn’t happen a lot but I hope you can figure it out and it’s not that problem ..

I have a 2014 Chevy traverse..p0101 code..after my car temp warms up which is fast my acceleration gets way worse and barely moves..hesitation is bad..barley can get to 20 mph..then car dings and service stabilitrak:traction control off reduced engine mode comes on..already changed my maf and nap sensors twice:throttle body and sensor:alternator and my mechanic said he can’t figure it out. Try your connectors under the fuse box. There are two bolts that secure them to the bottom of the box. If they spin freely then that might be the problem. The connectors might need to be cleaned too.

Is this common with people thinking it’s a throttle body issue I had this issue but nothing changed when I got that in and added a new crankshaft sensor and a cam shaft and two timing chain sensors 😂 everyone I know that works on cars are saying timing chain but I’m not sure… and ideas perhaps

Awesome. Got to work this morning in my 2022 Tahoe RST 3.0 Duramax and it entered limp mode with check engine light.. Followed advice in this video and turned vehicle off, opened the door, and pumped the accelerator for about 30seconds. Turned vehicle on and both limp mode and engine light is gone.

I would test something because EFI wasn't surrent time but they was using diesel fuel at the time General motor timed up with ? Detroit motors they came out with diesel engine my request is carburetor intake on the duramax just ????? It has to done a internal combustion but my ideal can be done and it already has because Cummins, Detroit, international, Ford, has already ran the carburetors on diesel engines, EFI didn't come out at a surrent time specially for chevy early 90s late 80s they swap to EFI. ?
