Pete- your creativity in applying the numerous algorithms to a musical piece puts you in a class of your own. The look, user interface, and simple 9 volt power are big pluses for me. I love that echo is available and expression pedals can be hooked up. Neunaber doesn't sit on their laurels, and keep the quality evolving without overwhelming the pedal with knobs. I typically don't use a lot of delay or reverb, so the texture of the amp gain is always present. The analog through signal sounds really promising to keep the amp signal in tact, as do the wonderful tones on this demo. I will definitely get my hands on one of these.

What to say? It's sort of Boss (digital) and Line6-like, but simplified. But also fully expanded with MIDI, expression in, fully stereo. I'm not sure if I like it yet, but the sound of the reverbs, as always with Neunaber is awesome. And hey, if I had a MIDI-rig I would be happy with this. But for home-use if you want to dig in in your reverb, there's nothing quite like the RV-500, now is there? Anyhow, awesome demo, again, as ever. There's a reason why I'm subscribed to your channel: it's not just your technical playing, but also what you play and your personality.

I am looking to purchase either an Illumine or a S.A. Ventris - basically same price. Leaning toward Illumine, as it enables me to program, save and recall presets WITHOUT a separate midi controller. However, SA. offers incredible software customization. I need probably 4-5 saved reverbs that are easy to recall for live playing. Opinions of the Illumine vs Ventris, gear nerds? Or Pete, what are your opinions? - you have reviewed both units.

@Paul_Lenard_Ewing3 жыл бұрын
I already have their last one. BIg but! Even it has a lot more than I can actually use in a band even though we do our own material. A good plate as my default. Better than a spring but easy to keep tame enough to not swamp every chord change.
@funkyfurballs10783 жыл бұрын
If I wanted the best Plate and good Spring, I'd get the UA Golden. I only have the Flux Effects Liquid Ambience, which is a great Hall based reverb but I'm in the market for something like the Golden and Meris Mercury7 for extra ambient effects.
@Paul_Lenard_Ewing3 жыл бұрын
@@funkyfurballs1078 My problem is a good one. I have 2 boards linked together to form one big one. Each board is wired up as 2 boards giving me 4 boards. I use a switcher so in a tune I can switch between the boards as if they were 4 pedals. The idea is to create the kind of sound you hear on a Post produced recording. It works exceptionally well. In total there are 72 pedals. The Strymon classics still sound excellent. the good news is the chips in them are now over 12 years old and are two generations old and are dirt cheap. In the last year a few exceptional pedals have been made that sell dirt cheap simply by using these chips and they wisely sticking to a few plain vanilla sounds doing a stellar job on the voices. These are not your ambient pedals with overly complex algorithm's. Josh Scott was blown out of the water by the Flamma stuff and is going to do a whole show on them. Their $40 delay has a tape patch where they dead nailed the echoplex. I have to choose wisely ...a single pedal can dumb down the whole sound. Wise shopping can average things down to $250 a pedal. Yes my rig is about $20,000.00 USD. It took 5 years but it is pretty much nailed. Before you think it is outrageous look around your neighborhood and see how many people have dirt bikes, snowmobiles and camping trailers that are total hobby stuff that cost much more and thousands a year to repair and maintain. I have only played original since I was 20. I am 74 now. I just stuck with the dream for life. It was good choice.I am always living in the present like a kid and dreaming about tomorrow. I have a Power trio with 2 young players. Anyone over 35 lives in the past. I see them as the walking dead :-)
