Sue I'm so incredibly happy for you. This has been a long time coming. I felt like i was Shammy or your mom watching you leave to start a new chapter in your life. I remember when I migrated to NY as a child, the air smelled so different to me when I got off the plane. Everything looked so big, busy and intimidating. You'll get use to it, plus in the spring time everything seems to come alive. Word of advice, the northeast is incredibly cold in the winter. In NYC we say it's brick (slang for when outside extra cold). In case you haven't already, invest in a pair of Uggs, a warm coat and hat.
