That Yan vs Figgy fight is going on my list of all time favorite fights. We just saw some of the most Elite MMA. There wasn't just crazy flow state striking battles, we saw scrambles as nimble as cats. This is top tier MMA! (Man i wish we could just banish Merab to the shadow realm so we could enjoy all of these amazing 135 match ups. I'm already so fed up with merab as a champ!)

Ive been thinking it and this fight has confirmed it for me, petr yan is the best bantamweight in the world right now. When you watch Yan you realize what's missing in modern day UFC... FIGHTING!!! Most the top fighters fight so scared nowadays and it seems like the whole fight comes down to a dozen or two exchanges. Yan takes a second to feel out his opponent but once he gets in his groove it's nonstop action, pure unadulterated skillful fighting. Yan may be my favorite fighter to watch in the current roster

the thing that showed me that Petr Yan improved is this. In the 1st round when Figgy got his back and put the body triangle on (Aljo Style) Yan followed an escape step by step and reversed the position to end on top. Jus that shows he put effort improving his weaknesses.

Figgy’s chin is FAR BETTER at 135 too. I think this fight is a perfect showcase of how a weight cut can diminish a fighter’s chin. At 125 he was getting rocked by Moreno but at 135 he could tank Yan’s best punches who hits considerably harder.

He also had 5 round cardio. At 125 his gas tank is what held him back, if you could endure his early offense, he'd gas, and be in survival mode. Here, he was going for the finish and in the fight the last 2 rounds.

The commentators spoke on Feng Xiaocan's condition during the main card in the transmission. She was out for 4 minutes, and woke up while they were getting her on the stretcher, but was unresponsive. She started talking with her coach while on the ambulance, and didn't know what had happened. She did get hospitalized, and was still there when the event ended, but she was awake and stable. They said a preliminary CT scan she got looked good, and that she didn't suffer any neck injuries. Also, man, how tf did Figgy eat that spinning elbow in the fifth. Great card, great main event.

Figgy did better than I expected honestly. Not that I was sleeping on him but his cardio faired better than expected but his durability was insane, bro just wouldn’t go down. That being said he had his moment but like 80% of the fight was one way traffic, apart from figgy having the moments of success he had, Yan had the performance I expected. I just thought figgy would gas and Yan would get the 4th round finish, but figgy did well.
