The carving of mountains for housing was from the culture of the Arabs and is still seen in the caves of Shuaib (the civilization of Madyan) and Mada'in Saleh (the civilization of Thamud). Drawings, inscriptions, and inscriptions in Arabic calligraphy in the mountainous rocks are many in the Arabian Peninsula

A beautiful and really deserving world heritage site. I will forever treasure my visits to Petra. Once you see the Treasury from the siq is an awesome sight. As you mentioned the sunset and the views from top of the hill with the sunset made me cry a i felt that God really exists and i had a sort of memory flashback of what happened there in the past.
