One of the geratest problems of today is that proper old cars are now an investment for non driving rich people,so the cars are standing to death in climate chambers waiting for the next auction!

+David Zu Elfe are you a new member of the team? There's a really unique style to this video that I loved. Especially the lack of drone shots, they're always cool but some people rely on them too much and the video ends up looking over polished and smooth, which is never close to a vintage driving experience. Cool stuff on your channel too!

ottifant64 It's not funny if I have to explain it. Aviation was seen as exotic, exciting, done to a higher standard, desirable, and a car company would want to capture and reproduce the ambience of an aircraft, in their car. Very nearly a hundred years later and nothing much has changed.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that is more than likely a result of Bentley's heavy involvement in WWI with their rotary aircraft engines. The same can be seen in BMW, Mercedes (German), Rolls Royce, and even Harley Davidson. (Harley engines are actually based off an aircraft radial engine design)

Driving home from work quite some years ago,I l looked in my rear view mirror and saw this odd shaped vehicle coming up in the fast lane and I couldn't work it out. However as this thing was catching me up at a fair rate of knots the penny dropped "A blower Bentley"I moved over dropped all the windows and as this thing pulled along side, what a site and sounded like a Spitfire.I remember the driver was wearing a white shirt flying helmet and goggles, but I'll never forget that sound it gave me goosebumps and the hair on the back of my neck stood up,never forget that journey home.

I never thought about unsynchronised until I bought a 1952 Dodge US Army M37 Power Wagon. In some ways it's like driving a pre war car, the windshield goes down and you are sitting up higher that later modern cars. 3rd and 4th are synced for me, first is a granny, so going up from 2nd isn't bad, but from 3rd to 2nd is what I have to practice. So I can appreciate what he is saying about the gearbox. I think I would pick a pre war Bentley if I could have any car. There is something special about all that gear noise and wind blowing around. I also have a 240Z and it's just so different, I love having the contrast. You should get an M37 on Petrolicious, it's a crazy old truck that went to Korea and Vietnam.

I'm not sure passion is the right word here. This is love, perhaps more than love. Some cannot sustain passion, lust... most can understand love can be ever lasting and formed from love given. There is much missing from this anthology of love. As I watched this I longed for pictures of your family on your 9 month journey. As that is the foundation and basis for the love projected in the story. They say life is not a means to an end for we all end the same... the winners.. the losers... the famous.. the homeless. What matters is the journey and what we make of that journey. Clearly, your journey Mr. Metcalf, led you to an everlasting unconditional love. And that is an entirely a different kind of love. Thank you for sharing.
