Thanks Petrolicious and thank you Mr Ferris. Thank you for sharing your car. Years ago I went to your dealer just to get a decal for my tool box. The staff treated me so well even though I was dress in (clean) coveralls. So nice that they made me an espresso and showed me Mr. Ferris collection on the second floor. Cars I would never dreamed I would ever see. 288 GTO, 333 SP, Maserati MC-12, and couple more I don’t remember the rest. Even though I wasn’t buying anything crazy I was treated like I was.

Back in the mid-90's, among other things, I was a corner worker for the SCCA at Sears Point Raceway, in Sonoma, CA. There were two club members who owned at 250 TR each and one also owned a 250 LM. Mike Calleham ran his 250 TR and Dr.Lou Sellea ran his 250 LM in the first session of a very clear peaceful morning. I was working at turn 8, directly across from the exit of the Carousel and the hill up to turn 7. The sound of those two gorgeous machines running hard up that hill with two V12s in harmony was like nothing else in the world. I've been a musician for more than 60 years and nothing else I've ever heard sounded better than that morning's performance!

I was born in 1960, and as a small child, my favorite "toy" was a beautiful 1:12 scale model of this car in metal, which, in truth belonged to my dad, and he let me 'play' with it under his supervision. I had a bunch of smaller toy cars, and that one was the only one my dad owned. It was beautifully detailed, down to the wire wheels, and engine. Looking at these images, it is remarkable how familiar this object still is to me after all these years. My nephew, who lives far away from me, has it now, and I get to see it every once in a while.

When people think about Ferrari in North America they usually mention Hollywood or Beverly Hills but this is simply not the case. I remember back when the Enzo was released and the car was reviewed by the press in California for the first time. That car wore Ontario license plates and almost certainly came from Remo's dealership. Ferrari has a long history in Canada due in no small part to the passion of this man. Thank you Remo.

This is why I'm subscribed the beautifully shot videos and amazing cars. And then you bring out amazing classic cars like the 250 lm introducing them to a new generation so they can see what a real car looks like. This is why I drive classic Vw's, one it's fun and two I love them and truly almost any classic car. But I have to say classic cars sitting somewhere and never driving is a shame. These things are made to drive. Driving old cars and people doing a double take just to see it brings out the kid in older people and lights up the eyes of almost anyone who sees an old classic car like when I drive my karmann ghia people just smile and wave. It seems to make people happy when they see a classic car and can't stop looking at it or wanting to sit in it. This is why this channel is awesome it makes my inner kid jump up and down with joy about seeing another classic car. Keep up the great work and making these love letters to all the amazing cars you've made amazing videos about.

I watched the 250 LMs at Sebring FL (12 hrs) in the mid 1960s. At night, it was easy to see the glowing red disc brakes thru the wire wheels. The pure racing version is MUCH louder than this video represents. You can hear it for miles. Back then, American cars were made more like washing machines, just cheap appliances. The Ferrari was more like aircraft. Ever detail precise, high quality, to go the distance. Hour after screaming, howling hour, to the maximum that human skill could do. Buongiorno.

1964 - 1969 I and a cousin got to tune a very sick Ecuadorian LM at an Avon Park gas station, the last year.. Charlie Kolb suggested we try and help these very nice kids! HE was cussing mad, OIL all over the back of his sky blue Dino 206SP Oil all over himself.. He would have helped them, otherwise.... We had learned webers on the ALFAS and things.. So we gave it a shot... Purred and SCREAMED after we got done.... THEY wanted us to pit for them! WE were there to see the new 312P Spyder... no thanks so they fed us magnificent STEAKS from home! Good Beer and Corn! THEY burned up their brakes in night practice... Then had gear box issues.. so they were out... A retired Scuderia driver got them another box, but it was too late. Kolb finished well... THEY had done well at Daytona the year before 8th OA... Only Ferrari that time... but with Raceco of Miami help... LOST to ALFA... Auto Delta..the new Tipo 33s... We put up those giant butcher paper posters at The Esses/MG Bridge Facing the drivers coming in... FORZA FERRARI GO MARIO! It was a hell of a race! Ford, Ferrari & Porsche... Never to be repeated... But that LM.... Went to the King of Sweden I was told.. Made into a luxury GT.... Well a Miami doctor did the same to a Mk. IV Ford GT Really a nice thing to do! Drove it up to the race several years.. Seen on parade laps with the 917s and Moss in the 300SLR Coupe! All balls to the wall out on the runways! @ 190 +!! More sounds! Collectors be DAMNED! J.C.

Petrolicious, you have it dialed in on this episode! You have the camera shake that gives that feeling of how intense this car is under power, you drop the music and let us here the whine of that V12, you give us the loud clack of the gear shift gate, and you combine panning down the engine, with shots of the carburetor linkage being racked, and the sound of that incredible engine. And the chase shots, and in-car shots..........you were on the money, every single second. This should be your formula. We love the videos and the experience they unveil, and we want you to know when to drop the music and let us experience the machine!! Pardon me while I go re-watch this with the sound turned way up!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of seeing a lot of Ferrari (250 LM, 312 P, 333 SP, etc) at Le Mans Classic. In addition to being magnificent, these cars have a soul and a history. And what about the impression given off by their V12 engines, with their unforgettable sound.
@acsexpress51095 жыл бұрын
I thought these looked blunted, snub-nosed in comparison to the 330 P4 when I first saw a picture. Now I feel different; it is gorgeous thing of beauty! The 250 LM is like a smooth skipping stone, slightly dimpled and elongated. It was then scaled up in size to accept firstly an engine- seemingly pressed into its body. Moving forward a cavity was drained for a driver, not much more. The streamlined profile with the arching windshield tethered to the roof, then reaching towards the front bumper is like a modern Koenigsegg. Truly impressive.

Analog cars rule the earth, especially sports cars. Their is a rawness that 60's era cars have that newer cars lack. It's hard to put your finger on, but when you sit inside a vintage sports car the minute you shut the door and start the motor you get that sheepish grin in your face. I personally own a 68 Triumph Tr-250 White with red stripes across the hood, red interior wire wheels. She's my travel partner, therapist, and roommate. I was blessed to see the Ecuadorian LM at a Sebring Gas Station Badly in need of tuning. They had lost Raceco to ALFA... Auto Delta, that year... AFTER finishing a good 8th OA at Daytona the previous season. Charley Kolb was helping them, but had OIL all over the back of his sky blue Dino 206 Cussing like a sailor.... He said IF you know Webers go help them... We DID! Soon it was running sweetly! Guys wanted us to pit for them... but we were there to see the race! They DNQ'd .... burned up the brakes in night practice.... Racing with an older GT-40... NOT the Gulf cars... They fed us wonderful Steaks and good beer from home. Faustio and his family and friends were salt of the earth people. Umberto Magiloi was a funny guy.... tried to help them with a used gear box.. Flown by Alitalia... In an ancient oak BOX that was nearly as heavy as the trans axle... The car was given to the King of Sweden who had it made into a proper tourer 250GT interior, sound system, etc... Then it went to Japan... And back to England... I THINK! It was an life experience, just tuning the car... Thank God for the FIATS and ALFAS we had tuned before it.... A Maserati 200si/250S in Tampa... other cars with Webers... Buds Sports Car Clinic, Tampa, near USF.. Bay Auto Sales and others.... USF Sports Car Club auto crosses..
