I dislike the wheels but love the bodykit🤣
@ces696 күн бұрын
It’s not a body kit, I believe the whole body has been remade in carbon fibre to include those changes! I used to own an original TWR XJS and that did include a bolt on body kit which did apparently increase top speed by 4 mph without any of the additional upgrades!
@ces696 күн бұрын
@@chrisodonnell7022 The wheels look like they are an updated version of the original Speedline alloys that were fitted to the original TWR XJS back in the 80’s!
@artgreen69155 күн бұрын
@@ces69 yes and I can understand larger wheels but I think they've gone an inch too far. The design is fine.
@ces694 күн бұрын
@ Don’t recall if they mentioned the size but I think my 80’s TWR ran only 16’s which were considered big in those days. Today even small sporty hatches run 18’s! But the larger rim allows much lower profile tyres to be run so the overall rolling radius isn’t much bigger!

Great video- love the detail, but this is the first ever car video I have watched and thought what is the point in this car? It’s a modified XJS. A car that should be preserved or resto modded as in the outside kept the same not completely redesigned. Also don’t think it will appeal to the American market with a manual box. The mule to me looked better than the finished design. Love Jaguars and the Channel. This one not for me I am afraid! Keep producing the great content.

Peter…useless information really but I think they might like the registration number TWR 1 which spent many years on various cars owned by a man running a small corner shop near Hilary’s parental home. I saw it on a Rover 827i Sterling for years but now it is on a 2023 Audi 1.5 petrol. I did see it about a year or so ago and still in Bristol but I would think it was sold as the original keeper must have died many years ago . The DVLA will not help with tracing the current holder somebody might know via “social media” etc.🤔🙂🙂🙂R

Fantastic looking car. I've always preferred the XJS over the E Type myself. Only thing I would change is the headlight style from the later models which had a singular look to them as opposed to the split style of the separate high and low beams. Also since I know we all want to take a dig at the "rebranding" of Jaguar I'll say I'm glad someone is still trying to make the best Jaguar they can because looks like Jaguar itself is selling perfume instead of cars.

How is him driving the vehicle not strictly true? He was the one behind the wheel out on the road i.e. driving the thing..? Were you not hugged as a child to be this bitter?

@PetrolPed right so the tyre hasn't been designed for that particular car? It seemed implied michelin worked with them but I don't understand what michelin input was other than to supply a tyre LOL. I know some car manufacturers will have a specially designed tyre for the car. I got the impression this was been Implied or was that just my Aspergers ?
@PetrolPed8 күн бұрын
Some OEMs do indeed have tyres designed for them. This is prohibitively expensive for a limited run project like Supercat. Michelin worked with the team to try a range of fitments and helped with the choices around width and profile. Maybe you should listen when you watch and you would have heard this being explained 🤷♂️

Would the K&N filters not be fighting against the heat soak from the exhaust manifold and not pulling in cold air?
@PetrolPed8 күн бұрын
A question for Fergus 😬
@DnBTiger4 күн бұрын
You'd think so, but the bottom of the windscreen on a car is a high pressure area (look at where the air inlet is on 99% of cars for the cabin HVAC.) The reason you get air blown through your interior vents even when the fan is off is because the cold outside air changing direction at the base of the windscreen creates a high pressure area. If you look at a lot of old muscle cars you'll see a bonnet with a raised rear - this isn't to let heat out of the engine bay, it's to let cool air be forced into the engine bay to feed the engine intake. Those K&N filters will be getting fed cool air at slightly above atmospheric pressure

Back in the day, early 90s, I had a 911RS2.7, 944turbo and a XJS v12 that I had upgraded to Jaguar Sport spec. There was a long curve on the M40 motorway that at around 100/110 mph in the Jaguar I became a bit nervous but in either of the two Porsches I could keep accelerating to 130/140 or a bit more. Jaguars had the ride comfort but not necessarily the planted on the road feel.
