PetSafe Happy Ride Trailer Review

This is a brief review on the PetSafe Happy Ride Large aluminum trailer. I made a modification in which a 3/16" thick 22" x 30"piece of plywood was added as a subfloor. Aluminum U channels was screwed to the plywood for rigidity. This product does not have a solid subfloor, but only a piece of thin plastic. With the plywood installed, my dog appeared to be more stable in the trailer, and she spent more time standing while the trailer was moving. Prior to the plywood subfloor, my dog was mainly lying down.

Thanks for the review and description of the subfloor you created! I was looking for a trailer to pull my aging German Shepherd behind my ebike, and was seriously considering this trailer. Was thinking I was going to have to reinforce and/or custom make a floor to support his weight, he is probably currently at or slightly over the 110lb weight limit this trailer is advertised at. Coming across your video regarding this trailer makes me think this might still be my best option to pull him around.

That was a great video, review and how you reinforced the trailer floor. Molly looks like she enjoys her car. You should do an update video if you pimp out her ride.

Does the subfloor also rest on the side bars? Or only on the aluminium bar and nylon ribbon at the back and the front side?
